OverviewCAES by Honeywell's San Jose location is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer (I) with experience in a manufacturing environment to join our team. This role will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to address process problems and implement improvements to support our operation. This role requires onsite presence on a daily basis.Delivering mission-critical, electronic solutions that protect lives. CAES engineers solutions for the world’s most critical missions, serving customers in the defense and aerospace markets.ResponsibilitiesSplit 50/50 between supporting thin film substrate production and supporting the health, safety and environment (HSE) teamSupport thin film areas including metal deposition, saw cutting, mechanical & chemical cleaning, photolithography, plating, and final inspectionSupport safety by writing work instructions, completing compliance tasks to support regulatory requirements, and overseeing the site’s safety training programsRun engineering tests focused on yield improvement or labor reduction of production processes and qualify new machines for productionTake a hands-on approach to evaluating defects, working with operators, and addressing safety concernsImprove processes based on statistical analysis and by applying process controlsTrain operators and write work instructions to document key process stepsComplete ergonomic assessments, chemical compatibility or similar analyses to keep the site safe; perform safety Gemba walks to identify issues and corrective actionsQualificationsMinimum:B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science with at least 6 months of manufacturing experienceDemonstrated ability to improve a manufacturing process or oversee aspects of a site’s safety programThis position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware controlled by US export laws. You must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)Ability to obtain and maintain security clearancePreferred:Excellent communication skills to work with design engineers, project engineers, and manufacturing personnelSalary RangeProcess Engineer I: $89,000-$95,000 annually. Pay may vary based on location, education, and experience.
