We’re searching for a Senior Staff Embedded Software Engineer to join our Embedded Software team who create applications for the multitude of custom hardware devices designed by our electrical engineers. We employ state-of-the-art development techniques to create robust, reliable systems with safety and performance at the forefront.ResponsibilitiesArchitect and develop highly-reliable embedded firmwareDevelop low-level CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet devicesDevelop, debug, and test ethernet and CAN-based bootloadersSelect, implement, and debug real-time operating systems applicationsSupport hardware engineers with PCB bring-up, debugging and testingRequired QualificationsBS/MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field3+ years of embedded firmware engineering experienceKnowledge of both high- and low-level communication protocols, from I2C and SPI to CAN and TCP/IP ProtocolsExperience with low-level RTOS such as FreeRTOSExcellent C or C++ programming, Python and software design skills; expertise in other languages welcomeBasic knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals to support low level debuggingDesirable QualificationsExperience with PTP and other Time Sensitive Networking ProtocolsExperience with software development practices for safety critical systemsExperience porting embedded OS to new microprocessorExperience with automotive specific RTOS implementations (QNX, AUTOSAR, OSEK, etc.)Experience with basic electronics test equipment, such as multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and oscilloscopesCompensation and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is $212,000 - $340,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, starting pay is based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
