The club has earned top accolades, including Platinum Club of America and a Distinguished Emerald Club of the World, and recently completed a $16 million renovation as part of a three-phase improvement plan.Responsibilities of the Director of Facilities & EngineeringPersonally oversee the clubhouse and all community facilities, ensuring maintenance to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance.Lead, train, and develop the facilities team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth.Build trust and strong relationships with members and staff through consistency, presence, and responsiveness.Focus on details that define a luxury club experience, ensuring nothing is overlooked in maintenance, presentation, or execution.Be the club’s owner’s representative for capital and maintenance projects, managing inspections, punch-lists, budgets, and contractor performance.Collaborate with the GM/COO, Department Heads, Board of Directors, and volunteer committees, serving as a resource and partner in planning and execution.Balance daily operational excellence with long-range strategic planning, risk management, and emergency preparedness. Thrive in a high-touch, member-centric environment, combining technical expertise with leadership presence and governance experience.ResponsibilitiesAct as the club’s owner’s representative on capital and renovation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, inspections, punch-lists, and closeout.Attend and contribute to project meetings; ensure documentation and timely follow-up.Partner with leadership on long-range planning, asset replacement, obsolescence, and aspirational capital needs.Prepare and present monthly financial analysis for facilities P&L.Operations & MaintenanceDirect all facilities maintenance (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, pools, painting, masonry).Establish preventive maintenance programs, property inspections, and follow-up.Ensure compliance with building, safety, fire, and environmental codes.Maintain inventory, requisition supplies, and oversee vendor contracts and service agreements.Ensure work meets specifications, standards, and member expectations.Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing facilities team; conduct evaluations and enforce accountability.Build trust with members, staff, and committees through presence and responsiveness.Foster safety, detail orientation, and continuous improvement through training and leadership.Maintain accurate records of projects, inspections, work orders, and department activity; communicate status clearly to leadership.Collaborate with other department heads to ensure facilities support operational excellence club-wide.Serve as a resource and communicator to committees and the Board.Candidate QualificationsHands-on, detail-oriented facilities leader with the ability to manage daily operations and long-range projects in a complex, high-expectation environment.Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, pools, and structural systems.Experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs using CMMS and scheduling tools.Proficient in Florida building codes, OSHA, EPA, ADA, fire, and storm preparedness regulations.Demonstrated success overseeing multi-million-dollar construction and renovation projects from planning through completion.Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.Proven ability to recruit, train, and develop teams; leadership presence with excellent interpersonal and communication skills for members, staff, committees, and the Board.Hands-on approach with the ability to build trust through presence and responsiveness across the clubhouse and community.Educational and Certification QualificationsAssociate’s degree from an accredited two-year college or technical school specializing in Systems/Refrigeration or related field.Proficient in CMMS and project management applications.Knowledgeable in OSHA, EPA, ADA, fire codes and local/state regulations.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions.
