Quantitative Analysts work across the organization to help shape Google's business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting large data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Google and our clients to operate more efficiently, from enhancing advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization and studying user behavior. As an analyst, you do more than just crunch the numbers: you work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates and Marketing teams to adjust Google's practices according to your findings. Identifying the problem is only half the job; you also figure out the solution.Through your professional expertise and judgment, you work on multiple projects concurrently, developing analyses, models and methods to support and verify the impact of your recommendations. You share your expertise by consulting on projects, serving on committees and mentoring team members.At Google, data scientists not only revolutionize search, they routinely work on massive scalability, storage solutions, large applications, and entirely new platforms for developers around the world. From Google Ads to Chrome, Android to YouTube, Social to Local, Google engineers are changing the world, one technological achievement after another.As a Data Scientist, you will evaluate and improve Google's products. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems. This position will bring scientific and statistical methods to the issues of product creation, development, and improvement with an appreciation for the behaviors of the end user.The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Responsibilities in this role include collaborating with stakeholders to identify and clarify business or product questions, designing and evaluating models, gathering information and understanding data infrastructure, and owning the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources using tools such as SQL, R, Python. You will independently format, re-structure, or validate data to ensure quality and readiness for analysis.Salary and benefitsThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. Individual pay within the range is influenced by location and other factors. Your recruiter can share the specific range for your preferred location during the hiring process. The compensation details listed reflect base salary and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
