OverviewLitigation Associate Attorney (3-5+ Yrs Experience) at Panakos Law, APC. This is a part-time hourly position with full-time salaried expectations. Location: Little Italy, San Diego, CA.ResponsibilitiesSupport the entire litigation process including initial case assessments and legal memos, drafting and responding to written discovery, aiding in trial preparation, drafting/assisting with motion work, performing legal research, and providing general assistance to the firm’s three trial attorneys and two paralegals.Work with a small litigation team to manage civil and business litigation matters from our Little Italy office in San Diego, CA.Collaborate with remote and in-office teams weekly based on project needs.QualificationsJuris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive member in good standing with the California Bar3+ years direct experience in civil litigationEmployment, Real Estate, and/or Commercial Litigation experience a plusStrong research and writing skills and basic knowledge of California and Federal procedureAbility to work both independently and collaboratively; detail-oriented and self-organizedStrong oral and written communication skills; enjoy legal research, motion work, the discovery process and the nuances of litigationAbility to manage multiple types of cases and dynamic deadlines; full competence with most types of motion workExperience taking depositions is a plus but not necessary; physical trial experience a plus (but not necessary)Basic competency with Westlaw; a passion for legal research and motion workPreference for Mac operating systems but not requiredDependable transportation to/from the Little Italy neighborhood of San DiegoOpenness to work both in the Little Italy office and remotely, as neededCompensation and Employment TypeThis is a temp-to-hire position.
