Patent Attorney

Job Overview:A respected law firm based in Miami, FL, is expanding its Intellectual Property practice and is seeking a seasoned Patent Attorney with a deep foundation in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or medical device technologies. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary patent team and support sophisticated IP matters across a dynamic portfolio of clients in the life sciences industry.Duties:Assess innovations for patent eligibility across various scientific fieldsDraft and submit patent applications to the U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeManage the prosecution of U.S. patent filings and coordinate with international representatives for foreign applicationsContribute to due diligence reviews and patent portfolio development strategiesPerform technical and legal research related to patents and other intellectual property mattersPartner with legal teams, business stakeholders, and clients to devise and refine IP strategiesServe as a point of contact for collaborative initiatives with internal and external legal professionalsRequirements:At least 4 years of experience in patent prosecution within a law firm or corporate IP departmentDemonstrated background in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or medical devicesActive member in good standing of at least one state barRegistered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office or eligible to sit for the exam soonExperience with mechanical or electrical technologies is advantageousProven ability to navigate complex technical content in the life sciences domainStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work within collaborative legal environmentsEducation:Doctorate (Ph.D.) in a relevant life sciences discipline (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology)Certifications:U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration (or eligibility to obtain)Skills:Scientific and technical literacy within relevant disciplinesSkilled in patent drafting and strategic IP portfolio managementStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partnersHigh attention to detail and analytical thinkingJob Location:Miami, FLCompany infoBCG Attorney Search801 Brickell Avenue, Suite 900MiamiFloridaUnited States 33131Phone : (305) 570-3575Fax : (213) 895-7306CEO with a portfolio of several business entities is searching for a CoS.
