OverviewLegal Counsel – Commercial & Technology Transactions at Cohesity. Cohesity is seeking an outstanding lawyer with 5+ years’ technology licensing experience to join our legal team. The role supports our global sales team and requires flexibility to work across time zones. The position is based in or near the Eastern time zone.ResponsibilitiesNegotiate and draft a high volume of complex technology sales and partnering transactions, and a variety of other commercial contracts, including confidentiality agreements, license agreements, data processing agreements, professional services agreements, assignments and amendmentsDevelop and implement legal efficiencies to support sales, channel and business development teams and improve contract processes and operationsImprove and create contract templates and negotiation playbooks and provide internal training to sales, sales operations and legal operationsWork closely with sales leadership, deal management and company leaders on strategic initiatives in support of all business verticals and customer-facing transactionsProvide proactive strategic advice regarding business and legal issues and risksQualifications5+ years of law firm and/or in-house legal work experience preferably focused on technology transactionsLaw degree from a recognized university and license to practice in the United States. Exceptional candidates without a license to practice in the United States will also be consideredSpecific experience in SaaS, cloud computing, and enterprise softwareAdept at interacting effectively in a highly customer satisfaction focused environmentAdept at partnering with sales colleagues in fast paced customer-facing transactions, demonstrated competencies as a critical thinker and proactive problem solverExcellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsDetail-oriented, excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressureDemonstrated exceptional judgment and integrity with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice weighing legal and business objectivesEssential To SuccessWillingness to be flexible to support time zones across the worldAbility to thrive in situations that are rarely clear-cut or by-the-book; be nimble and inventiveA strong team player who can work well with business colleagues in high pressure situationsCommitted to personal growth and development by actively seeking feedback and acting on itPay and BenefitsDisclosure pursuant to applicable state equal pay laws. Pay range: $193,680.00-$242,100.00. This position may be eligible for bonus compensation, commission and/or equity grants.
