Job titleVice President of LendingReports toPresident and Chief Executive OfficerStatusFull time; exemptJob purposeThis position's role is to direct and oversee all aspects of lending activity for the credit union and to ensure effective and efficient operations, quality of members service, and compliance with existing regulations and policies. In addition, they provide visible leadership and direction to the Mortgage, Consumer, Servicing, and Collection department's staff.Duties and responsibilitiesDirectly supervises the mortgage and collection department's staff, and in-directly supervises the consumer and servicing department's staff and ensures a high quality of service from the staff while maintaining efficiency by providing mentoring, coaching, and training.Conducts regular meetings with lending personnel.Ensure that all lending department's policies, procedures, services, and products meet federal and state regulations and compliance, as well as investor requirements.Create and integrate process and product efficiencies to positively impact member experience and loan growth.Plan and participate in activities that help reenforce our PICK US values and support a positive internal culture.Participate in strategic planning and development of the Credit Union's municate goals and direction with all staff to ensure clear understanding of lending rules, regulations, requirements, and expectations.Oversee and monitor loan functions to achieve strategic goals while directing the work of the lending team including underwriting, loan processing, and loan approval/denials.Back-up the AVP of Consumer Lending and the AVP of Loan ServicingUnderwrites all home equity loans applications and underwrite consumer loan applications as needed.Monitor and maintain the mortgage department pipeline.Develop, analyze, and complete monthly loan reports.Prepares lending activity reports including competitors' rates, terms, trends, etc., and makes recommendations to senior management for improvements.Maintain up to date knowledge of general economic conditions that may affect the Credit Union and inform the President and CEO regarding same.Develop, implement, and administer all aspects of the Community Reinvestment Act Compliance Program as the CRA Officer to ensure the Credit Union's remains Satisfactory or better.Maintains the relationship between our mortgage processing vendor and approve and fund the first mortgages.Responsible for maintaining and reporting the HMDA LAR on a quarterly and an annual basis.Monitors the collection and recovery production on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis and oversees proposed charge offs, bankruptcies, and foreclosures.Assumes other duties, responsibilities, and special assignments as necessary or directed.QualificationsA minimum of 10 years of managerial and real estate experience in a financial institution setting.Strong experience in mortgage operations, lending laws, secondary mortgage market and loan underwriting.Thorough knowledge of lending compliance.College degree with concentration in business management is preferred.Strong Communication, both oral and written skills.Ability to become a Mortgage Loan Originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).Strong management skills to mentor staff and interact with employees at all levels of the organization.Strong computer skills.Working conditionsThis position requires a flexible schedule with limited evening and weekend duties, traveling in Credit Union's service area, attending events, and working at times with difficult members.Physical requirementsWhile performing the essential duties of the position, the employee would be regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to focus.
