This role requires close collaboration with leadership teams to ensure all aspects of projects are On Time - On Budget - Done Right - Done Safely.What does the Vice President of Engineering do at SpecSys?Provide technical sales support to aide in customer understand of department capabilities and experienceSupport sales in project estimating based on project historical data and knowledgeAssign a project lead and supporting team members to projects that have been awardedProvide overall department workload schedulingSupervise and provide performance reviews for engineering department staff membersResponsible for staff hiringProvide department status updates to upper management and ownershipProvide department capacity availability to sales managementResponsible for department budget managementParticipate as an active member of the management teamResponsible for department training and developmentOverall responsibility of work performed by the departmentMany tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the departmentHow do we define a good candidate?5+ years leadership and direct management experience10+ years of engineering experienceEngineering degreeMaster's degree in business or mechanical engineering preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to move around industrial equipment and shop environmentsMust be able to lift 50 lbs occasionallyAbility to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periodsMany tasks include their own work and/or the review of work of others in the department.
