This position reviews individual submissions for Commercial lines to evaluate risk attributes, pricing and business fit within Company guidelines and policies. This position is responsible for building strong agency relationships to develop new business opportunities; retain a strong renewal book of business and manage the overall book to profitability metrics. The Executive Underwriter is assigned to work with the top tier and middle tier of CIG agents and is responsible for production, relationship management and service. This position represents a senior technical level of underwriting authority and is capable of the evaluation of more complex and sophisticated commercial risks within the region. The Executive Underwriter is expected to make regular production calls and develop new business production. This assignment must adhere to underwriting guidelines for service and authority. This assignment may be directed to perform other underwriting duties including quality control, mentoring, territory analysis, and agency training.Requirements:Knowledge of commercial lines underwriting principals, manuals and rating plansAbility to evaluate new & renewal business to determine acceptability, pricing, and adherence to company underwriting guidelinesFamiliar with property, general liability, auto and umbrella coverageCollege degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 5 years of underwriting or agency experience preferredCommitment to continuing education; i.e. CPCU, AU, ARM, CRM, or CICSalary Range: $75,902 - $125,239The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions.
