Development Director

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director plays a key leadership role in a growing organization, engaging directly with board members, staff, donors, members, and strategic partners. This position oversees the Development and Membership team, including the Membership Manager and Interim Development Associate. With over half of the operating budget raised through contributed income and approximately $200K in annual grants, this role is vital to the organization’s success.The Development Director is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow revenue from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Duties include donor cultivation and stewardship, grant oversight, and managing fundraising events such as the annual Gala and Evening of Distinction. The role also supports strategic planning, the museum expansion, and day-to-day development operations, while building strong relationships with community stakeholders and sponsors.
