Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that push the envelope of sustainable design. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of the design of mechanical systems for buildings across a variety of sectors including Higher Education, Culture & Performing Arts, Healthcare, K-12, Justice/Civic, Federal, and Energy. You will lead mechanical engineering teams to produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements. As part of the integrated design team, you will collaborate closely with other disciplines to produce highly integrated building designs.You will be responsible for leading the design process of mechanical building systems and preparing detailed mechanical engineering drawings and calculations. Responsibilities include management of Mechanical Designers and/or other team members.The successful candidate willLead the mechanical design on projects of high importance.Collaborate early and often with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.Create and coordinate documents using Revit.Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.Perform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.Write and review specifications.Carry out technical review of interdisciplinary teams prior to issuance.Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.Survey existing systems and make recommendations based on the survey.Conduct site visits.Manage workload and schedules on mechanical project teams and/or interdisciplinary project teams.Mentor junior staff across all disciplines.Required QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).10+ years of experience working as a mechanical engineer, including design of HVAC systems, central utility plants, plumbing and fire suppression systems.Working knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines.Knowledge of Autodesk Revit.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of local building, mechanical, and energy codes.A desire to elevate the human experience through design.Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets to ensure on time delivery.Demonstrated record of consistent quality work.Ability to lead others and foster teamwork.QualificationsLEED accreditation.Building energy modeling experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
