Overview Quantum Application Scientist (Quantum Error Correction (QEC)): At Qblox, we are building the infrastructure to power the quantum revolution. As Quantum Application Scientist, QEC moves from theory to real-world implementation, we are creating a strategic new role at the intersection of Application Science and Application Engineering: QAS QEC Scientist. This role is ideal for a scientist with strong foundational expertise in QEC theory who is excited to apply that knowledge in a growing, collaborative engineering and product environment. You’ll contribute to the technical direction of QEC use cases and be part of cross-functional development initiatives, working alongside some of the most experienced quantum engineers in the field. You will be embedded in the North American Applications team, working closely with customers (including leading U.S. national labs, academic labs, and quantum computing companies) while also taking responsibilities for product development under the Application Engineering team in Delft, and supporting the product team on roadmap development and long-term initiatives. Key Responsibilities Customer Interaction & Support Serve as the QEC point of contact for strategic collaborations, technically demanding engagements, and relevant sales opportunities Collaborate with the North America QAS team to deliver compelling technical demos and user support tailored to QEC use cases. Co-develop technical white papers, onboarding materials, and tutorials for QEC applications. Strategic Engagement & Thought Leadership Support roadmap discussions and concept definition for next-generation QEC-focused features. Advise Product and R&D on QEC-driven opportunities and user needs. Contribute to the development of Qblox’s presence in the QEC space through targeted publications and conference participation. Internal Collaboration & Product Shaping Translate emerging QEC architectures into actionable requirements for Qblox control stacks. Allocate ~1-2 days/week to joint product development and technical alignment with our R&D team to: Design and Build: Collaborate closely with software and hardware teams to design and build the application layer, integrating and enhancing functionalities for the control stack. Develop Educational Resources: Develop compelling examples and tutorials for quantum computing experiments, including quantum computing classes and next gen instrument’s documentation. Provide scientific input on technical messaging, conference material, and high-level strategic initiatives. For this role, we are looking for a scientist with: A PhD in physics with experimental quantum computing on superconducting/spin qubits or relevant research and error correction Good communication skills for engaging with customers A hands-on mentality in making superconducting/spin circuit experimental setups work Experience in building and debugging experimental setups with RF signals, microwaves, DC equipment, cryostats, QPUs, and other general lab equipment Programming skills in Python A drive to stay up to date with scientific literature in quantum technology, specifically on superconducting circuits Affinity with sales and marketing (experience is a pro) Charismatic, enthusiastic, outgoing Fluency in Professional English About us At Qblox, we are operating at the frontier of the quantum revolution, delivering advanced technologies essential for building Quantum Computers.
