OverviewCampus Director of Operations (High School)Job Summary: The Campus Director of Operations role is an integral part of the Information & Operations team, ensuring all campus operations run seamlessly each day. This is a full-time, on-site role based at a campus with an anticipated start date of Mid-July 2025. Our work is grounded in excellence, equity, and justice, with a commitment to rigorous, relevant, and joyful learning experiences for students and families.About the Role: In partnership with the school leader, Assistant Principal of Operations, and KIPP DC headquarters staff, the Campus Director of Operations develops the campus-wide operations vision and ensures all campus operations run seamlessly, proactively solving problems and developing systems as needed. This position is fully onsite.Location and Type of Work: This is an exempt position reporting to the Assistant Principal of Operations (APO). All work is on-site during regular hours to support in-person operations for students and families.Salary note: The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $86,280-$93,782.ResponsibilitiesSchool Operations Leadership & Team Management (30% of time) — In partnership with the APO, develops the campus-wide operations vision aligned with the academic and cultural campus goals; leads the school’s operational planning; serves as secondary point of contact for KIPP DC headquarters; and coaches/develops the school operations team toward goals and outcomes.School-wide Systems (25% of time) — Ensures daily operational fluency, oversees food service quality and compliance, manages internal operations communications, and handles logistics for off-site field trips and on-site events.Finance & Purchasing (20% of time) — Works with the APO and school leader to manage the budget; oversees purchasing processes and vendor interactions; leads annual school opening logistics and start-up purchases; serves as the primary school contact for finance and coordinates with regional Finance teams for compliance and reporting.Safety (10% of time) — Supports drills and emergency readiness; manages student arrival/dismissal procedures and safety-related staff; supports schoolwide safety and security operations with the APO and Manager of Safety Operations.Facilities & Maintenance (10% of time) — Oversees facilities issues, maintenance, vendor management, shared space agreements, and campus safety; conducts facilities walkthroughs and coordinates with custodial staff/regional Facilities teams.Requirements & PreferencesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree5+ years of work experienceStrong organizational, verbal, and written communication skillsProficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelProven project management skills for creating systems and structuresAbility to work collaboratively across multiple teamsPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree2 years of previous management experienceExperience in a K-12 education setting and/or business or operations managementPhysical RequirementsAbility to travel to a KIPP DC schoolFlexibility to work outside of regular business hours or weekendsDemonstrated Excellence in the Following AreasCommitment to Students and Schools: Demonstrates belief in every child’s potential and prioritizes students, schools, and familiesStrategic Thinking and Problem SolvingProject ManagementCommunications and InfluenceTeamworkTrust and CollaborationCultural HumilityContinuous LearningBenefits & CompensationSalary: The starting salary range is $86,280-$93,782. KIPP DC offers competitive compensation and benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; voluntary benefits; and employer-paid benefits.
