Hybrid role – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.Position SummaryEverDriven is looking for a seasoned and innovative engineer for our Senior Software Architect role. You will drive the development and delivery of core technologies critical to our success. The candidate will provide technical vision and leadership to the team; capable of researching, architecting, prototyping, working with vendors on integration, and developing a range of systems. You will be a resource for development teams, a collaborative peer, and a leader in orchestrating overall system development.The ideal candidate is passionate about creating effective, high-quality, innovative, scalable products and online services. You love to iterate quickly. You must have knowledge of building and scaling cloud-based solutions, experience in managing vendors and getting things done. You have experience in some, or all, of the following areas: microservices, orchestration, DevOps, front-end frameworks, mobile applications, mapping and routing, data pipelines and analytics. You are also a team and consensus builder and understand why 'soft power' is so important.ResponsibilitiesOrchestrate the design and implementation of foundational platform capabilities critical to EverDriven’s success in building a scalable, efficient, high-performance platform.Work with peers and team members inside and outside engineering to translate business and technical requirements into architectural frameworks and designsDevelop practical yet advanced solutions to maximize technology and business successProvide technical leadership and oversight to ensure alignment with the original proposed architecture and designProactively identify and suggest architectural improvements to as-is SystemsRoll up your sleeves and develop proofs-of-concept, implement frameworks and patterns for handoff to team members, and deliver critical system components as neededFacilitate and lead in the evaluation and selection of products, frameworks and open-source softwareParticipate in project scoping, resource planning, and timeline estimationSupport multiple projects simultaneouslyLead and mentor other software engineers throughout the organizationBuild and maintain a positive and productive team culture focused on architectural excellenceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science; Master's degree preferred13+ years relevant experience as a Systems Engineer / Architect working in the SaaS and cloud spaceExperience in developing high-level architectural design and technology roadmaps, and driving hands-on development of those roadmapsExpert in developing detailed network system diagrams, flow diagrams, and state diagramsExcellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills, with strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate without guidanceYou possess leadership qualities, including ability to facilitate technical discussions with diverse and cross-functional groups and good negotiation skillsYou know how to tailor communication to the target audience to achieve desired resultsAbility to quickly research new topics and technologies and understand how to apply them to our problem spaceIf you don’t know, you can learn it - quicklyYou can juggle multiple projects and change priorities as the business needs changeMust have extensive experience in defining and building scalable Cloud-based systemsAppreciation of the design concepts behind large scale web applicationsIntuitive design and problem solving skills, with a strong bias for architecting reliable systems that scaleUnderstanding of RESTful API patternsExperience with Infrastructure as Code on Azure or other cloud providersExperience managing architecture documentation and establishing standards and governance, and managing through change over timeTransportation industry experience a plus (but everything above is more important)Commitment to ESGSince 2006, EverDriven has remained committed to incorporating environmental, social and governance fundamentals into the framework of our internal and external culture.
