OverviewGeneral Merchandise Team Leader (Early Morning Logistics Supervisor) at Target. Pay range per hour is $28.00 - $47.60. This section explains Target’s values and culture and provides context about General Merchandise operations.ResponsibilitiesExecute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, setting/updating displays, sampling, promotions and price changes.Educate the team on operational procedures (merchandise setup, stock levels, and maintenance of sales floor areas) to affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.Assist with reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and develop plans for improvement for review and approval by your direct leader.Develop expertise in operations, accuracy, process, and efficiency.With guidance from the direct leader, lead daily tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing backroom, arranging merchandise, and posting promotional signs for GM areas.Support inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and maintenance, and pricing for all store areas.Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic, aligning with weekly/monthly priorities.Help establish goals and hold team members accountable to expectations with the direct leader’s guidance.Lead pick, pack and ship fulfillment work when applicable and assess fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop plans.Collaborate with all teams and leaders to identify priorities and ensure the store is guest-ready per leadership direction.Stay informed about trends and products to educate team members using available Target communications tools.Evaluate candidates for open positions and build a guest-centric team; support onboarding and development to close skill gaps.Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends.Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment while maintaining compliance with laws (including adult beverage laws as applicable).Demonstrate inclusivity, ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; lead the team by example.Model safety culture by recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards, and timely incident reporting/investigation.Model execution of physical security processes to enhance in-store security.Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store, including ordering, storage and application as directed by best practices.Model creating a welcoming guest experience and engage with guests to solve needs.Lead by thanking guests and communicate appreciation for their visit.As applicable, follow safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.Address store emergency and compliance needs.All other duties as needed by business needs.What We Are Looking ForYou enjoy interacting and helping others—guests and team members.You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active environment where teamwork, flexibility, and problem solving are key.You are open to a flexible schedule, including varying hours, days or shifts (nights, weekends, holidays, peak times).RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAge 18 or olderPrevious retail experience preferred but not requiredAbility to lead and hold others accountableAbility to communicate across devices and operate scanners and other technologyWork independently and as part of a team; manage workload and prioritize tasksRemain focused and composed in a fast-paced environmentWelcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and teammatesEffective communication skillsAdditional InformationTarget will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in compliance with local fair chance ordinances.Benefits eligibility information is available at: Target provides reasonable accommodations in the application process upon request.
