Quartus excels in commercial and defense aircraft applications, as well as custom optical systems like laser communications terminals and lidar payloads with both aerial and space applications.What will you do?As a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Aerospace division in San Diego, you will be helping to lead and grow our electrical engineering capabilities for aerospace applications. You will be leading development of electrical subsystems and/or embedded software for space and airborne applications. You will work with an interdisciplinary team of optical, mechanical, and software engineers to develop creative solutions for a wide variety of applications.Essential Job Functions:People LeadershipFoster team collaboration and high technical performance with a people-first approachMentor, motivate, and develop more junior engineersParticipate in the hiring process to grow electrical engineering capabilities for aerospace applicationsProject & Technical LeadershipCollaborate with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical and optical engineering, to develop fully integrated electrical and electro-optical systems.Serve as technical lead for the development of electrical and embedded systemsDelegate, oversee, and review project workDevelop and own subsystems as direct contributorProvide technical mentorship to junior engineersContribute to sales efforts by writing proposals, presenting engineering capabilities, and assisting business development team with meeting, conference, and marketing content supportSupport Business Development team in developing and growing client relationshipsResearch & DevelopmentStay up to date with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and related technologies for aerospace applications.Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in electrical systems and development workflowsLocationPosition is based in San Diego with a hybrid schedule.**The hybrid work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs including but not limited to training, performance, or other operational requirements. We hire resourceful individuals with a passion for learning and an ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to solve a variety of problems.What are we looking for?BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field6+ years of industry experienceExperience with high level system design for aerospace applicationsHistory of deploying electronics hardware or software in successful space missionsAnalog/Digital circuit design and simulationExperience with schematic capture and PCB design for aerospace applicationsFPGA programming experience (VHDL or Verilog)Experience developing C/C++ for microcontrollers and SoCsExperience with the Git version control systemDemonstrated ability to work in and lead a technical teamAbility to prepare proposals and presentations and assist with sales meetingsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; effective presentation skillsDemonstrated ability to compellingly present technical information to groupsExperience developing business proposals and/or support sales organization to win and develop new businessFamiliarity with NASA mission risk classifications and ability to derive electronics hardware and testing requirements from high level mission requirements.Must be US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)Compensation and BenefitsSenior Electrical Engineer pay range: $114,609– $187,270 **This pay range represents base pay.
