Whether you’re a tech enthusiast, a strategic thinker, or a problem-solver, at G&A, you’ll have the opportunity to level up your career while making a real-world impact.If you’re ready to be part of a company that values purpose as much as progress, G&A is the place for you!SummaryGoldschmitt and Associates is searching for a FOIA Analyst I to provide FOIA support for policy and program offices within a government agency.This position is a Hybrid role and requires commuting to the USDT office in Washington, DC twice per week.The anticipated annual salary for this position is up to $70,000, dependent upon experience.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage and process complex FOIA requests, conduct thorough record searches across various agency systems, evaluating exemptions, and determine appropriate redactions to ensure compliance with FOIA laws and agency policiesApply legal expertise to interpret FOIA exemptions, including those related to national security, personal privacy, and commercial information, and make informed decisions on disclosure and redactionEffectively communicate with requesters, agency staff, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to address FOIA inquiries, negotiate the scope of the request, and resolve complex issuesSupport required will involve various assistance-related duties to respond to requests for records, pursuant to the FOIAReview, organize, and analyze documents for production in response to FOIA requests, including determining responsive records, identifying confidential business information, intra-agency, pre-decisional and deliberative information or attorney work product, and personal identifying informationPromote transparency within the government agency by disclosing non-exempt information directly to requestors and making proactive disclosures of non-exempt information readily accessible via the government online electronic reading roomAppropriately apply Exemptions 1-7 when responding to FOIA requestsUtilize FOIAXpress to manage and process FOIA requestsNecessary Skills and KnowledgeStrong research and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levelsAbility to handle multiple tasks within specified deadlinesMinimum QualificationsPossess at least 1 year of experience working in the FOIA field providing cradle to grave support to, or working directly for, a Government AgencyPossess a working understanding of Exemptions 1-7Possess prior experience utilizing FOIAXpress to manage and process FOIA requestsPossess the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearancePreferred QualificationsPossess a Bachelor’s degreeNOTE: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities or qualifications associated with the job.
