In this role, you will work on cutting-edge applications that involve real-time media processing, scalable cloud infrastructure, and high-performance event-driven systems.Responsibilities:Architect, build, and optimize scalable backend services and APIs powering real-time livestreaming experiences.Design, implement, and maintain high-performance systems using TypeScript, Node.js, and Google Cloud Platform services including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Spanner, and BigQuery.Work with Kubernetes, Spark and similar platforms to support 24/7 real time tegrate third party platforms.Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient delivery of new product features.Ensure backend reliability, scalability, and maintainability through proactive monitoring, alerting, and rigorous testing.Identify performance bottlenecks, debug complex issues, and provide sustainable solutions to support high-traffic consumer-facing applications.Participate actively in architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence.Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation to support team knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.Stay current on emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices to continuously enhance backend infrastructure and engineering practices.What We’re Looking ForYou will play a key role in designing and developing robust, high-performance solutions that drive our platform's capabilities forward.When applying, please provide links to your GitHub profile, any live projects or web applications you have worked on, and your specific contributions to those projects.Minimum Requirements:7 years of experience in professional backend development.Deep understanding of event-driven architectures, including technologies like Pub/Sub, or similar message queues.Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Cloud Functions, Spanner, BiqQuery, Cloud Run, and other key services.Strong understanding of real-time media streaming technologies, including WebRTC, HLS, and low-latency audio/video processing.Proficiency in frontend and backend optimization techniques to ensure high performance.Experience with microservices architecture and API design.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.Experience with machine learning and AI-driven media processing (a plus).Salary & BenefitsCompensation: $150k - $230kBenefits Include:Unlimited PTO to prioritize work-life balance.401(k) plan to invest in your prehensive health insurance to support your well-being.Paid company holidays for time to petitive salary that values your expertise and contributions.Where You’ll Work: This is a full time on-site position in Santa Monica.To apply, skip the cover letter.
