Career Opportunities with Novo Construction IncA great place to work.Current job opportunities are posted here as they become available.The Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in project coordination, overseeing tasks such as managing project scopes, reviewing and submitting materials, maintaining schedules, and fostering effective communication among stakeholders, including the owner, architect, subcontractors, and vendors. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the building trades, methods, and materials, with a particular emphasis on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Systems.Reporting to the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and/or Project Executive, the Project Engineer will be stationed at the project site, collaborating closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure seamless project execution.Within your first year at NOVO, you have the potential to be on 2-4 projects (each project duration is about 12-18 weeks), exposed to various clients, architects, and all subcontractor trades.We offer comprehensive benefits extending beyond medical, dental and vision coverage, including community involvement, continued learning and advancement to Assistant Project Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:(Note: Additional duties may be assigned on an individual basis)Pre-constructionAttend and coordinate project job walksParticipate in the RFP processProduce quantity take-offs for multiple disciplinesSafetyConduct daily project walks with SuperintendentSupport Superintendent and Safety Director in establishing Site Specific Safety PlansCost ControlInput project budget utilizing Sentinel (Project Management Software)Identify and track scope and change order with SubcontractorDocument ControlDevelop, track and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and procurement logs utilizing SentinelGenerate action item lists and follow-through to completionCoordinate and update Master Drawing Set and logs utilizing FieldwireDistribute project drawings, design changes, RFIs, submittals, and documentation to extended teamCollaborate with the Project Superintendent to identify project progress and update procurement scheduleMonitor and log 3rd party testing, project access and logistics plansConduct OpenSpace job walk captures multiple times a weekComplete and distribute weekly job site progress reportsMeetingsParticipate in weekly Subcontractor Meeting with Project SuperintendentAttend and contribute in weekly Owner, Architect and Contractor meetingsPrepare, update and distribute meeting minutes and project documents to extended teamConduct weekly internal meetingsTechnical AbilityUtilize engineering or construction management background to identify field issues and suggest potential alternatesReview subcontractor and vendor drawings and submittals for adherence to plans and specificationsConduct coordination meetings with Architects, Engineers and multiple subcontractor tradesInterface with Architect and Engineers to efficiently resolve technical issues and convey information to field and entire teamDemonstrate basic understanding of construction drawings, details and terminologySkills and QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil EngineeringA minimum of 2 internships and/or 1+ year of commercial construction experienceFlexible with ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrentlyResourceful, with respect to problem identification and resolutionStrong verbal and written communications skillsAble to operate in a fast-paced working environment with minimal direction from Senior ManagementProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (or similar project management software), Scheduling software (MS Project and/or Primavera), accounting systems and software, and estimating softwareCompensation and BenefitsSalary: $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually, based on qualifications and experienceFull time: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday in the office/job siteInsurance Package: Medical, Dental and Vision #J-18808-Ljbffr
