Our global healthcare practice provides our clients and communities with creative design solutions that improve the health and human condition of those they serve.We are currently searching for a Global Health Director.Primary ResponsibilitiesResponsible for business development strategies and overall practice leadership for the Health Sector at local, regional, national, and international levels. This position will be responsible for assuring that HDR’s Health Sector brand is elevated and maintained through quality design, innovative planning, client service and thought leadership on the facilities that we design.Lead ongoing evaluation and assessment of our Health Sector practice across the business to identify current and desired capabilities, including assessment of practice performance.Establish appropriate practice growth strategies, in collaboration with others, to address any delivery / resources / skillset gaps across practice teams.Mentor, advise and nurture other leaders, current and future, within applicable offices and assist, where appropriate, with the development of each office team.Assist in identifying, evaluating and recruiting new talent for our practice, from either outside or within HDR.Mentor and coach existing employees in our current service delivery approach to increase performance and effectiveness of our overall practice.Assist and support the onboarding efforts for new staff.Assist in providing accurate and current content for standardized reports to include bookings vs. goals, pursuit volume, marketing costs vs. budgets, win rate, top pursuits, planned vs. actual marketing pursuit expenses, etc.When and where appropriate, actively participate on projects in an appropriate capacity to advise client, and otherwise add value to our service, projects, and teams.When and where appropriate, provide insights and guidance to our project teams.Brand ManagementAssist with strategy for annual market sector communications planning, to elevate HDR’s brand and thought leadership throughout the market.Assist with strategy and content for external marketing PR and communications; including special initiatives, special events, conference speaking abstracts, media relationships, social media, design awards and website.Assist with strategy and content for internal marketing communications; including annual kickoff, regional BD calls/meetings and knowledge sharing.Market Sector InfrastructureMonthly Reports – Work directly with Health Strategic Manager to provide regular reports about global pursuit activity and progress.Client Distribution Lists – Create a process for developing a comprehensive approach to client distribution lists as well as a process for keeping this list accurate and current.Assist with content for special/specific presentations such as road shows, cross sector shows, acquisition presentations, and corporate events.Business DevelopmentIn collaboration with the Regional Health Directors, lead overall market sector business development to identify priorities, strategies and associated target clients in the US and abroad.Lead overall annual market sector planning by establishing annual fee goals, marketing budgets, and expected planning outcomes.Work closely in collaboration with Regional Health Directors, Managing Principals, Project Principals, Design Principals and Health Teams to formulate and implement marketing initiatives.Develop and nurture strong relationships with key clients.Establish business development priorities and strategies in collaboration with Health Strategic Growth Director for research, market trend analysis, competitor analysis, assessment and application of predictive analytics, network building, etc.Participate/support reviews for GNG, fee strategies and alternative delivery projects.Assist and coach pursuit teams in developing effective client capture plans, pre-marketing strategies and relationship building with target clients.Assist, guide and coach pursuit teams in proposal and interview preparation, whenever appropriate.Identify and develop strategic partnerships within or outside the industry to support and achieve our strategic business initiatives.Position will be located in an existing US based HDR architecture office: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Denver, Omaha, Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis, Dallas, Houston, Boston, New York, Pennington, Philadelphia, Arlington, Richmond, Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, TampaPreferred QualificationsExtensive knowledge and experience within the Health Sector.Experience with successfully developing and executing targeted market and client strategies.Advanced credentialing desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, etc)Willing to travel.*LI-SA1Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in ArchitectureRegistered ArchitectA minimum of 12 years industry experience including leadershipStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong skills in client management, client development and a documented history of growing/leading a practiceStrong business skills; specifically handling budgets, staff and operational issuesStrong ability to analyze the marketplace and strategically position HDRAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
