The Position Our bank client seeks to fill a VP – Deposit Operations Manager role in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will manage all Retail Operations related to check, ACH, debit cards, and ATM transaction processing, including paid items, large items, non-post, online entries, overdrafts, return items, stop payments, statement rendering, research, and legal documentation such as subpoenas and citations. This position offers a salary of up to $90K and a full benefits package. VP – Deposit Operations Manager Responsibilities include: Overseeing check and deposit account processing, including check payments, deposited items, ACH, overdrafts, return items, ATM and debit card settlement, statement rendering, and reconciliation. Managing lockbox remittance processing and the proof department, including customer setup and monthly billing. Preparing monthly reports on account reconciliation, ATM, debit card, lockbox profitability, and other requested reports. Resolving customer issues related to deposit and lockbox exceptions or errors. Overseeing the Bank’s customer Masterfile records. Managing Fed Reserve due from the bank, official check, currency vault, ATM/Debit Card settlement, Internet Banking, ATM Card processing, and reconciliation, including approval of general ledger balancing. Managing deposit account document imaging. Handling deposit account research and adjustments. Leading the Retail Operations team, including coaching, mentoring, employee development, training, performance management, and employee relations. Collaborating with other bank departments to ensure efficient management of customer deposit accounts. Performing other duties as assigned. Who Are You? Skills and experience include: A college degree in a business-related or technical field is preferred; a High School diploma or GED is required. Ten or more years of banking (retail) or related experience, with extensive exposure to deposit account processing and proven supervisory/management skills. Knowledge of fundamental bank compliance topics. Logical judgment, attention to detail, prioritization skills, and adaptability. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with internal clients. Technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office and related tools.
