OverviewInstitute Director, Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender HealthUniversity of Minnesota Medical SchoolUniversity of Minnesota Twin CitiesThe University of Minnesota Medical School invites nominations and applications for a visionary leader to serve as Director of the Eli Coleman Institute for Sexual and Gender Health (ISGH). This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the world’s premier academic institutes dedicated to advancing sexual and gender health through research, clinical innovation, education, and public policy. The Director will also hold the Endowed Academic Chair in Sexual Health, reflecting the University’s deep and sustained commitment to this critical field.This is a tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. We are seeking an accomplished scholar and strategic thinker with demonstrated excellence in research, education, and policy leadership related to sexual or gender health. The ideal candidate will bring a nuanced understanding of the political, social, and scientific landscapes that shape this field and will be adept at building alliances across disciplines, sectors, and communities to drive meaningful impact.The Director will set and execute a bold, inclusive vision for ISGH and oversee its internationally recognized clinical services, dynamic research portfolio, innovative educational programming, and policy engagement. The Director will champion equity, justice, and scientific rigor while guiding a multidisciplinary team committed to transforming health outcomes for populations across Minnesota and beyond.QualificationsRequired:PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree.Evidence of leadership in the field of gender and/or sexuality.Demonstrated potential for obtaining federal or other peer-reviewed funding.An established track record of scholarly activity including publications and presentations.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in an academic healthcare setting.Pay and BenefitsCompensation for this role is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The base salary for an associate professor is $137,155 and the base salary for a full professor is $179,281.
