With our innovative technology we are looking to change the world of dentistry for dentists and their patients.Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team on the West Coast. We are open to Location in California. In this role, you will provide technical support either over the phone or by travelling to customer locations where you will diagnose and repair their existing laser, install new hardware or parts and provide maintenance services as needed. You will also provide new laser installation services. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and has the technical skills to get the job done. Client satisfaction is a top priority. This job typically requires 100% travel. In this position you matter. This role fills a critical need and contributes significantly toward our company’s success. ResponsibilitiesPerform technical assignments to install, modify, and repair our laser based Dental SystemsTroubleshoot and repair of equipment both in-house and at customer sites after analyzing mechanical, electrical and software failuresDisassemble malfunctioning dental devices and use standardized testing procedures; examine and test mechanisms for defectsReplace or repair defective parts which may require modification or replacement componentsReassembles dental devices or equipment and tests assembly for conformance to specificationsMaintain an inventory of materials, including electrical, mechanical, and optical components for the field servicing of customer devicesInspect devices and test equipment periodically and adjust calibration to ensure functioning within specified standardsComplete in a timely manner, standard equipment documentation and reports necessary for FDA complianceProvide customers with timely and accurate technical information in a positive and straightforward mannerWhen needed, provide training to dental office staff on the set up and maintenance of the dental laser QualificationsHigh school diploma/GEDPrevious experience in a Field Service capacity, a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience solving problems with computer hardware, software and medical devicesBasic knowledge of electro-mechanical systems (lasers and optics valued)ASEE or equivalent technical educationExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent customer service skillsAble to work independentlyPhysical ability to stand and sit for extended periods and lift and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbsMay require after hours telephone support or on-call availabilityMS Office Suite experience requiredExperience in Dental or Medical practices reliant on advanced technologies a plusValid driver’s license and clean driving recordThe ability to travel where needed, depending on location, could be by car or plane BenefitsNot eligible for Visa SponsorshipFlexible SchedulingCompetitive Compensation & benefitsCareer Advancement Opportunities Equal OpportunityConvergent Dental is committed to developing a diverse and talented team.
