This is a part-time, long-term temporary opportunity supporting a dynamic in-house IP team.Position DetailsStart Date: ASAPDuration: 3+ months, with potential to extendHours: 20 hours / week to start (potential to adjust based on business needs)Location: Chicagoland area preferred. Remote candidates with exceptional experience will also be consideredCompensation: $100+ / hour (commensurate with experience)ResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level IP counsel to the company’s in-house legal team supporting high-volume, global brandsManage patent filings, portfolio strategy, and trade secret counselingAdvise business leaders on IP strategy to support innovation, brand protection, and competitive advantageEnsure compliance with IP best practices while providing practical, business-focused solutionsIntegrate quickly into the team with minimal training, providing hands-on guidance across IP functionsCandidate Profile10+ years of experience as an intellectual property attorney, with significant in-house experience requiredStrong background in the consumer-packaged goods industry highly preferredSkilled in patent filings, portfolio management, and trade secret counselingDemonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment with agility, creativity, and efficiencyActive U.S. bar license in good standingLOD is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
