About The Role As a Senior Software Engineer at Relay, you’ll be responsible for building the next generation payments network for an industry that has seen little innovation in the last 50 years. You’ll help drivers save hours each week by making transactions painless. You’ll help everyone in the transaction chain get visibility into spending, perform accurate accounting, and save money. You’ll build fast and reliable payment products for an industry that keeps America running. Responsibilities Design and lead the implementation of consistently high quality systems with contributions from one or more teams. Shape broad architecture across the organization by shipping multiple large services, complex libraries, and major pieces of infrastructure. Identify and proactively tackle system-wide or organizational technical debt while being a prolific contributor and making a positive impact on the entire company’s technical trajectory. Substantially support delivery and handle large cross-team development efforts. Work across the entire stack to deliver solutions end-to-end with a focus on Golang. This role works a hybrid schedule, and is in-office at Cobb Galleria Tuesdays and Thursdays. What Makes You a Great Fit 7+ years of Golang experience; preference for candidates with software engineering experience in payments or FinTech. Detail-oriented systems thinker who can work well independently or with others on a team. Ability to maintain flexibility and weigh business and technical priorities. Experience architecting solutions in a thoughtful way - limiting the number of technologies, justifying decisions, and articulating tradeoffs. Ability to execute on determined design decisions. Good written and oral communication skills to help educate others in the organization about changing processes and frameworks. A solid understanding of software testing strategies. Systems and Frameworks As part of this role, you will be working with several systems and frameworks at Relay.
