IFC’s Infrastructure Department provides investment and advisory services for private sector and municipal clients across energy, mining, transport, utilities, and telecom/media/technology sectors.IFC’s Global Infrastructure Innovation and Strategic Initiatives unit supports sustainable finance and resilience offerings and works with client relationship managers, investment teams, climate experts, and knowledge partners to design and execute products and services that address client needs and IFC’s mission.Duties and Responsibilities Support IFC’s client Relationship Managers and Investment Officers in engaging clients on sustainability and resilience strategies and priorities, and in originating, structuring and executing sustainable finance transactions globally in energy, mining, transport, TMT, water, waste and municipal finance sectors. The role will primarily focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, with the ability to support clients and transactions globally. Develop and scale sustainable finance, resilience, climate and impact finance product offerings in emerging markets in support of the IFC 2030 agenda and the WBG livable planet strategy. Pitch, structure and execute sustainable finance transactions for infrastructure clients across geographies, in collaboration with IFC sustainability and climate experts and broader WBG communities of practice. Support integration of sustainability, resilience and climate strategies across INR investments, ensuring alignment with global frameworks (e.g., MDB methodologies). Contribute to developing and delivering strategic knowledge on sustainability and resilience for INR; support blended finance structuring and fundraising with a focus on sustainability and cross-cutting themes for Infrastructure. Contribute to knowledge management, market monitoring, and reporting; produce monthly pipeline updates and other deliverables in coordination with IFC teams. Support or lead knowledge management and training events on sustainable finance, resilience and related issues; assist in organizing external sustainability-related events. Collaborate with Communications to produce knowledge pieces and disseminate them to clients and the broader public. Main Activities Contribute to structuring of innovative sustainable finance products, including developing frameworks and engaging with Second Party Opinion providers, and incorporate provisions into legal documentation. Engage with market participants to stay abreast of market opportunities. Support strategic dialogue with clients and investors on beyond-compliance sustainability topics, with tailored presentations that highlight IFC additionality and expertise. Advise on sustainable finance trends and innovations across Infra sub-sectors and regions through knowledge sessions and business development activities. Support pipeline coordination and donor engagement for climate and sustainability themes for IFC’s Infrastructure sectors. Qualifications Master’s degree in finance, business, economics, environmental sciences, international development, engineering, or related field. 5-6 years of experience with an investment bank, consulting firm, or international financial institution in sustainable finance, infrastructure financing, climate and nature finance, and sustainability. Good knowledge of sustainable finance products, market participants, and broader sustainability, resilience, energy transition, climate and biodiversity issues. Hands-on experience in infrastructure financing transactions (ideally including capital markets) is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to engage with clients and stakeholders. Ability to work in a team and manage multiple client projects; proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Strong interpersonal and client-management skills; ability to build relationships and influence decisions. High energy, initiative, autonomy and flexibility in adapting to changing requirements.
