Black Forest Labs is a cutting-edge startup pioneering generative image and video models. Our team, which invented Stable Diffusion, Stable Video Diffusion, and FLUX.1, is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to help us scale our accounting function as we go through this rapid phase of growth.As an integral part of our finance team, your main goal will be to ensure accurate, timely, and scalable accounting operations that support our rapid global growth whilst maintaining robust financial compliance across our current US-German corporate structure and enabling data-driven decision-making.The RoleCross-Border Financial OperationsManage consolidated accounting for our US parent company and German subsidiary under US GAAPExecute fast and accurate monthly close processes across jurisdictions, including intercompany calculations and eliminations.Coordinate with German operations to maintain compliance with local statutory requirements while rolling up to US GAAP reportingSupport preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reporting packagesCore Accounting & Revenue OperationsOwn accounts payable, receivables, and fixed asset accounting across both entitiesManage revenue recognition for our AI model licensing and API services under ASC 606Process customer invoicing where required and work on increasing automation to ensure seamless, accurate and timely order to cash flows.Monitor collections and manage customer payment processesOperational FinanceReview and process AP where necessary, leaning into automation (eg Ramp) to ensure fast and accurate processing.Assist in coordination of payroll operations with external providers and internal People OperationsExecute payment runs and cash management activities across multiple entities and bank accountsSupport month-end accruals and journal entry preparationProcess Enhancement & AutomationAssist in the design and implement scalable accounting processes to support our international AI business modelAutomate routine finance workflows using modern fintech tools and integrations, working alongside internal engineering teams to optimize this for the 'finance team of tomorrow'Support finance systems optimization and continuous process improvement initiativesAssist with financial aspects of fundraising and investor reporting as neededMust-havesAccounting Experience : 5+ years in accounting with 3+ years at a high-growth tech company, preferably in AI / ML, SaaS, or enterprise softwareSystems Proficiency : Hands-on experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar ERP systems, plus modern AP / AR tools (Stripe, Ramp, Brex, )US GAAP Expertise : Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition (ASC 606) and multi-entity consolidationsProcess-Driven Mindset : Track record of identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions autonomouslyCommunication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaborationPrecision & Reliability : Known for accuracy in financial reporting and meeting tight deadlinesNice-to-havesEducational Background : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or CPA certificationPublic Accounting Experience : Big 4 or mid-tier firm experience with tech clientsGerman Operations Knowledge : Familiarity with German GAAP (HGB), VAT, and statutory reportingInternational Accounting : Experience with foreign currency accounting, transfer pricing, and cross-border transactionsAI Industry Knowledge : Understanding of AI / ML business models, usage-based pricing, and enterprise software metricsTechnical Aptitude : Comfort with APIs, data integrations, and finance automation toolsCompliance Background : Experience with SOX compliance, audit coordination, and investor reportingRemote Work Skills : Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones in a distributed team environmentWe/'re looking for a highly motivated, curious, and adaptable commercial professional who can execute today while helping us build for tomorrow.
