The OpportunityFixed Income Trader & Strategist, MML Investor ServicesFull-Time/ Hybrid, Boston, New York City or SpringfieldThe RoleThe Fixed Income Trader & Strategist will join the Fixed Income team as a Municipal Bond Trading specialist. This role supports the implementation of fixed income strategies across municipal, corporate, and structured products for MML Investor Advisors and the MML Investors Wealth Management team. The team values mentorship, agility, business acumen, communication, and leadership.The ImpactAs the Fixed Income Trader & Strategist, responsibilities include but are not limited to:Support MML Investor Services field advisors by providing fixed income expertise and coaching on trading platforms. Construct fixed income ladders and portfolios.Buy and sell bonds for client portfolios, with primary focus on municipal bonds, and attention to US Treasury, agency securities, and corporate bonds.Drive portfolio strategy by contributing to portfolio implementation, strategy development, and process improvement.Support internal investment management teams with fixed income portfolio construction for client advisory accounts and SMAs.Monitor existing bond portfolios, focusing on cash flows, maturity planning, and credit monitoring.Create, run, and interpret analyses for clients and relationship managers.Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for internal stakeholders, advisors, and clients.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control policies, with emphasis on best execution analysis and trade reporting (TRACE, RTRS).Administer trade corrections and fixed income trades for back-office support.Contribute to continuous improvement of investment processes and tools; stay informed on technologies and research in fixed income.Develop understanding of MML Investors product shelf and trading rules for each product line.The Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degreeFINRA Series 7 at time of applicationFINRA Series 24 at time of application or must obtain within 6 months of hireFINRA Series 53 at time of application or must obtain within 9 months of hire7+ years of fixed income trading experience5+ years of municipal bond trading experienceThe Ideal QualificationsStrong appreciation of client service; ability to work in a team and provide high-quality serviceEffective presentation skills to audiences with diverse investment backgroundsExperience with Bloomberg, Alternative Trading Systems, Bond Beacon, and the NFS custodial platformBA/CFA or progress toward MBA/CFAStrong intellectual curiosityStrong leadership and collaborative problem-solving skillsWhat to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the TeamRegular meetings with the Trading TeamFocused one-on-one meetings with your managerNetworking opportunities including access to Business Resource GroupsAccess to learning content on Degreed and other platformsEthics and integrity valued within a strong, ethical business with competitive pay and benefits#LI-RS1Salary Range: $141,300.00-$185,400.00MassMutual focuses on fair, equitable pay with competitive salaries and incentive opportunities.
