In appetite entertainment subsectors include Theatrical (Broadway & Off Broadway); Live & Touring Theatre, Music & Dance; Performing Arts Centers; Entertainment Venues; Music Groups & Artists; and Rental Houses. If so, this opportunity would be a perfect fit!We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriter, who will be responsible for the following:Manage and underwrite a Media, Arts & Entertainment book of business.Capable of underwriting all product lines (Property, General Liability, Auto, Inland Marine, Umbrella/Excess and Workers Compensation).Continuous learning including a thorough understanding of the Media, Arts & Entertainment Industry sector.Sales Excellence including new business pipelining, sales calls, competitor intel, cross-selling, building external relationships with agents, brokers & clients, and selling The Hartford’s differentiated service offerings.Proactive renewal book management including early account level renewal game plans and communication to our agents & brokers.Agency Management which includes creating, driving and execution of strategies for new and/or renewal accounts.Underwriting quality applying all applicable underwriting guidelines when making decisions.Delivering positive customer experiences by being responsive, knowledgeable, solution oriented, and a trusted advisor to our distribution partners.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.5+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience. Entertainment underwriting experience required.Ability to travel within local regional territory as well as travel by plane.Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners.Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions.High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit.Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills.Goal-oriented and delivers outcomes.Desire to compete to win.Superior technical knowledge and sound decision-making and analytical skills.Ability to travel 20%Valid driver’s license as a company pool car may be provided.***Position title level will be determined after careful review of the selected candidate’s qualifications***Location:This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in the Los Angeles, CA office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
