For more information on ITS, check this video: ContextThe WBG Corporate Solutions Department (ITSCO) focuses on the digital transformation of essential corporate services to ensure WBG operations are seamless, resilient, and future‑ready. It unites digitalization roadmaps, experience design, process optimization, application delivery, systems management, and technology modernization across some 170 products and services. The department links business ambition with operational excellence—from intuitive employee experiences and precision payroll to data-driven decision making, intelligent automation, and AI enablement. Operating from Washington, Chennai, Sofia, and Singapore in a global delivery model, the team combines strategic planning with agile product delivery, design forward innovation, digital engineering, automation, and AI to produce engaging, impactful, and efficient solutions. The goal is a unified OneWBG corporate backbone that empowers leaders, staff, partners, and shareholders with the processes, capabilities, and insights to advance the WBG's mission at scale.The department comprises four units which work closely together to deliver on the department's mandate:Corporate Digital Acceleration unit: Accelerates digital transformation for corporate functions through design thinking, digital innovation, rapid prototyping, reimagining processes, and AI enablement (e.g., AI-first work digitalization strategies).Corporate Experience Solutions unit: Delivers optimal digital experiences for employees, clients, partners, shareholders, and beneficiaries through engaging, effective, user-centric solutions (e.g., intranets, self service, work productivity and decision-support systems).Corporate Business Solutions unit: Enables core corporate processes and back-office functions (e.g., ERP systems supporting HR and budget).Corporate Digital Backbone unit: Creates an autonomous digital backbone for data, transactions, processes, and insights (e.g., application modernization, data exchange, enterprise integration, automated processes, agentic‑AI).Unit ContextThe Corporate Digital Acceleration unit will serve as an active innovator and designer for the digitalization of the World Bank Group’s essential corporate functions and processes and the technology systems that support them. It addresses approximately 25 value streams across nearly two dozen corporate VPUs and all four WBG institutions. The unit integrates business architecture, strategy roadmapping, design thinking, rapid prototyping, process analysis, and intelligent automation into a unified transformation capability, aligning with a OneWBG-first approach.The three teams under this unit are:Digitalization Roadmaps: Co-create roadmaps to guide investment priorities and product roadmaps for corporate functions.Design Thinking & Innovation: Connects strategy to digital products using design thinking, design sprints, rapid prototyping, and co‑creation with corporate units.AI-First Work Redesign: Reimagines work using AI-first approaches, deploying intelligent automation, RPA, contextual data, and AI agents to drive productivity and scalability.To realize this ambition, the unit combines business architecture, process discovery and optimization, design-led innovation, and emerging technologies to help corporate functions define their future of work. It ensures modernization is coherent, sequenced, and impactful, technically sound, operationally sustainable, and institutionally embraced. The Corporate Digital Acceleration unit enables flexible, adaptive, and future‑ready corporate functions in service of the WBG's global mission.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Manager, Corporate Digital Acceleration combines expertise in business architecture, process optimization, design thinking, automation, and AI-driven capabilities to guide transformation across approximately 25 value streams and 170 products/services. The Manager will work closely with the Director and other Managers to ensure priorities, product and systems development, and technology capabilities are aligned for impact, efficiency, and value. Primary responsibilities include:Leadership & Strategic Planning - Guide strategic direction through digitalization roadmaps informing investment prioritization.Partner with business leaders to generate thought leadership, drive transformation, and build shared accountability.Business Alignment, Process Design, & AI Enablement - Create structured roadmaps, manage interdependencies, and identify cross-cutting opportunities.Use design thinking, rapid prototyping, and co-creation to develop scalable solutions with product teams.Reimagine work processes via process optimization, intelligent automation, and responsible agentic AI.Apply benefits-realization frameworks to ensure value is credible and accepted.Monitor and communicate value delivered, feeding into departmental OKRs.People Management & Culture Leadership - Build and develop a globally distributed team, set objectives, coach, and enable career crease organizational resilience and foster a safe, inclusive, collaborative environment.Serve as a core ITS management team member, contributing to strategic planning and governance; handle fiduciary responsibilities including budget management.Within the first year, deliverables include:Build the Corporate Digital Acceleration capability and team.Deliver roadmaps and transformation frameworks for budget/performance, HR, and Board operations value anize and execute at least three design sprints to prototype solutions for the three value streams.Define AI enablement opportunities for the three value streams with other department units.Create and socialize a benefits realization framework to measure value.Deliver the capital program assigned to the unit.Establish well-functioning teams and enable cross-department collaboration.Selection CriteriaIn addition to strong work ethic and integrity, the candidate should establish immediate credibility with a complex group of stakeholders, possess outstanding intellect, leadership, analytical abilities, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Prior leadership experience in management consulting, business architecture, and enterprise transformation is required. The qualifications include:Master’s degree in computer science, business management, management science, or related fields, with post-graduate coursework in enterprise digital transformation and related areas, and at least ten years in a global IT organization.Ten-plus years in leadership roles in management consulting, business process optimization, and digital transformation for global enterprises.Proven track record in leading enterprise-scale change with roadmapping, design thinking, and agile methodologies.Ability to define digitalization roadmaps aligned to business priorities and achieve measurable outcomes using agile delivery and modern practices.Experience leading design thinking, prototyping, and design sprints, including low-code/no-code prototyping.Expertise in business process transformation, lean methodologies, and automation/AI for operational improvements.Ability to create benefits realization frameworks and socialize them with partners.Experience with process tools (e.g., Celonis, Aris, Visio, Lucid), automation tools (RPA, Nintex, Appian, Power Platform), and innovation tools (Miro, Mural).Proven experience leading multidisciplinary, distributed teams and vendors in a global scaled agile IT delivery model.Strong stakeholder partnership, governance, and business/IT alignment capabilities.Strong collaboration and diplomacy skills; ability to influence decisions through education and partnership.Strong business acumen and judgment with the ability to simplify complex concepts and deliver under pressure.A deep passion for the mission of the World Bank Group.CertificationsRequired:Leading SAFe (SA/SAFe Agilist)Business Process Engineering certification (e.g., ABPMP, Six Sigma)Digital Transformation certificationChange Management certificationPreferred:Lean Practitioner certificationSAFe for Architects (ARCH)TOGAF 10 (Foundation + Practitioner)Certified Agile Practitioner (e.g., SAFe, Scrum Master)Lean Portfolio Management (SAFe LPM)Azure Fundamentals certificationThe World Bank Group values diversity and encourages all qualified candidates who are nationals of World Bank Group member countries to apply, regardless of gender, gender identity, religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability.
