We value diversity, embrace new perspectives, and foster an inclusive work environment; we back each other to deliver impact.Make Wayve the experience that defines your career!The RoleAs an Engineering Manager for AI Synthesis, you will lead a team in building the technology and workflows to scale Wavye’s simulation scenario gyms, the rich collection of proctored experiences used to evaluate Wayve’s driving intelligence. You’ll use data-driven and AI based approaches to ensure scalability of our solutions.Wayve’s approach to autonomous driving presents unique challenges for simulation. Our end to end driving stack requires a simulator that is both highly realistic and highly descriptive. Our approach to simulation brings together a combination of classical simulation techniques with cutting edge developments in machine learning to represent the real world in high fidelity at scale.You’ll be managing a multi disciplinary team and working closely with other leaders from across simulation, robotics, machine learning development, and data to ensure the quality, scalability, and coverage of Wayve’s scenarios, and developing the tooling to get us there. Your team will apply software engineering and machine learning techniques to the problems of scaled scenario generation, coverage assessment, and scaled evaluation of embodied ai system performance.Challenges will ownHelp define and drive scenario generation technology roadmap to deliver on company goals and prioritiesLead technical discussions and guide technical direction where neededSet effective KPIs and metricsBuild resilient and reliable systems, and teams, anticipate the needs of the business 18 months out, identify areas where additional resources are needed and grow team as hiring managerPrioritise effectively, implement and maintain lean and effective team processesCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders, and other teams within the organisation to ensure alignment.Work closely with team members to develop career plans and growth trajectories.Actively foster and promote technical excellence within the team.Partner with leadership to maintain a culture of impact, performance, and health.About YouProven track record of managing engineering teams.Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals.Experience with roadmap planning, stakeholder management, requirements gathering and alignment with peers towards milestones and deliverables.Track record of promoting software engineering best practices and excellence within the team.Demonstrated ability to manage software engineers and grow their careers.Good foundational coding knowledge and experience.Experience working with autonomous vehiclesExperience working with simulation platformsExperience building systems in Python and/or C++Experience leading simulation, robotics, NeRF or GenAI development.Experience with generative image synthesisExperience with performance evaluation of embodied ai systems.Experience leading full stack development#LI-FH1#LI-AF1We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above.
