This position will be located in Roy, UT or El Segundo, CA and will support the Sentinel program.This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.What You’ll Get To DoThis position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. It is expected that the Functional management role will comprise up to 20% of the candidate's time. The candidate will have 80% technical responsibilities: supporting SDS programs as an engineer within their same function. Candidate will act across multiple organizations to drive execution.As a Functional Manager, you will be required to provide a wide range of people leadership/mentoring activities and foster a culture that allows employees to learn and grow. You will facilitate and execute the performance management cycle for your direct reports. This includes setting goals, mid and end-of-year reviews as well as performance evaluations and compensation. This role will also require you to mentor your direct reports and be their first line of contact for career growth, training, and certifications funding, stretch assignments, etc.Essential Functions you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Promotes the professional development of the Homeroom workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvementManages and guides direct report annual goals, performance evaluations and compensations reviewsEnsures accurate time charging and timecard approvalsManages conflict resolution, performance issues and improvement plansMentors career growth for team of direct reportsAligns direct reports to technical roles based on program needsHelps identify stretch assignments and opportunities - This role requires a deep understanding of systems engineering processes, agile methodologies, and strong project management capabilities to ensure successful delivery against aggressive schedules and budgetsTechnical Oversight of the AVE Integrated Test Program:Develop and implement a unified AVE T&E strategy that incorporates programmatic requirements, compliance documents, and Northrop Grumman T&E Policies, Procedures and ProcessesEstablish and maintain a robust T&E framework that systematically organizes test events around the key decisions they inform, ensuring that relevant data is captured, utilized, and effectively communicated to stakeholdersUtilize the T&E framework to build and validate comprehensive AVE test flow diagrams that map test event sequencing, relationships, and dependencies to support critical decisions and milestonesLead efforts to standardize T&E processes across all test teams by documenting these processes in the Integrated Test Plan (ITP). Ensure consistency in execution, optimize efficiency, and eliminate redundancies within the test programDefine early baselines for all tests, capturing preliminary test plans that outline objectives, scope, limitations, and critical details. These early test plans will serve as the foundation for the AVE testing process and meet early programmatic milestone entry/exit criteriaCross-Team Collaboration and Integration:Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including systems engineering, program management, design, and manufacturing, to ensure alignment with program objectives and milestonesPartner with Systems Engineering to develop testable requirements and implement robust verification plansEnhance Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to integrate T&E strategy, test frameworks, early test plan baselines, and test flows into a unified AVE ITPUtilize MBSE tools to identify gaps early, streamline process audits, and ensure alignment across program milestonesInterface with the US Government customer and the Combined Test Force through Integrated Test Plan reviews and the AVE Test Working GroupWork with Segment, Element, and Subsystem Test Teams to define and baseline the scope of test eventsProactively identify and address gaps or overlaps in the test program, quantify risks and document feasible mitigations through the program’s risk management processProject Management:Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) delegate for Integrated Test Planning Work PackagesMaintain updated estimates for project completion, manage schedule forecasts, and ensure alignment with program milestonesDevelop corrective actions for any cost or schedule variances, documenting risks and opportunities, and maintaining project schedulesAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:Medical, Dental & Vision coverage401kEducational AssistanceLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance Programs & Work/Life SolutionsPaid Time OffHealth & Wellness ResourcesEmployee DiscountsThis position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.You’ll Bring These Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with a minimum of 6 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM with 4 years of related experience.Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needAt least one year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against scheduleExperience supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industriesThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Experience with defense acquisition milestones and milestone requirements, including a general understanding of a test team's role in supporting each milestoneExperience with systems engineering concepts, including but not limited to requirements development and management, verification and validation, systems integration, interface control and verification, risk management, configuration management, or model-based systems engineering (MBSE)Experience with compliance document tailoring, management, and implementation in programmatic documents and requirements, including familiarity with standards such as SMC-S-016, SMC-S-006, SMC-S-025, AIAA S-113, and Air Force standards like DoDI 5000.89 and DAFI 99-103, or similarExperience in collaboratively developing an integrated test plan, DoD Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), or similar documentationExperience in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORSExperience with Model-Based Engineering Tools, such as Cameo Systems ModelerExperience with AF Test Directive 99-103#SentinelintandtestPrimary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $234,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
