About the Role Zenith Energy is currently recruiting for a motivated Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering Team. Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, the ideal candidate will play a vital role in the Electrical team by coordinating project design, installation, commissioning, and operation of Hybrid (renewable and thermal) off-grid power systems. Responsibilities Assisting in preliminary power system design, including switchboards, transformers, and power conversion system specifications. Analysis of HV and LV distribution, control, protection, metering, and earthing systems. Oversee Construction, Installation, and Commissioning of Electrical Systems. Detailed design integration of Thermal generation, Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Wind turbines. Review specifications for Transformers, MCC, MV, and LV Switchboards, RMUs, BESS, Wind turbines, Solar PVs and inverters, and Medium-Voltage Kiosk. Size & select Cables, VSDs, UPS, Battery Chargers; Calculate Load Demand. Documentation of design and calculations. Development of test and commissioning plans and procedures. Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to issues with existing power generation and distribution assets. Review HV Submissions and coordinate with Construction and Commissioning teams. About You Experience in electrical design and construction within a heavy industrial environment, preferably in a remote Power Station or Mine site plant design. Construction experience in High/Medium Voltage Systems Design. Expert understanding of current Australian Standards for Electrical Installations, including AS 2067, AS 3000, and AS 5033. Knowledge of Protection, Power Systems & Earthing. Experience in PLC and protection relay programming would be desirable. Knowledge of Network Communication Architecture. Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. Strong attention to detail. Highly skilled in analytical and problem-solving skills for complex electrical protection systems. Having knowledge and understanding of Renewable Systems would be desirable. BA or Master0s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications. Ability to pass a National Police Clearance and Pre-employment Medical. Right to work in Australia.
