Position Summary The Vice President, Manufacturing Operations will report to the SVP, Product Development and Manufacturing (PD&T) and will be responsible for leading the transition from a clinical-stage organization to an effective commercial manufacturing organization. The candidate will lead and develop a best-in-class manufacturing and supply chain team that can collaboratively work across functions to enable commercial launch of our lead product into global markets. Working with internal teams (quality, regulatory, commercial, finance) and external contract service providers, the individual will ensure end-to-end supply chain readiness to meet global product demand with a focus on continuous process improvement. Responsibilities Leads the manufacturing and supply chain teams, providing leadership aligned with Vera values and building a high-performing organization. Contributes to the strategic leadership of Vera's late-stage programs as a strong team player. Participates in sales and operations planning (S&OP) and Product Development Teams representing the Product Development and Manufacturing function. Creates synergy and knowledge sharing to enable optimal production planning processes balancing supply and demand risks. Serves as a single point of contact to manage end-to-end global supply chain and foster supplier relationships using appropriate metrics. Provides strategic direction to craft and manage commercial supply contracts with an eye toward life cycle extension programs. Develops and manages tools for end-to-end demand and supply planning. Provides strategic direction, technical guidance, and long-range planning for late-stage programs from BLA-enabling studies through commercial launch and sustaining operations. Develops and manages department budgets and ensures fiscal responsibility for manufacturing operations. Develops fit-for-purpose operational processes and systems to support supplier metrics and continuous improvement / process excellence. Qualifications BA or BS in life sciences required with 15+ years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Advanced degree in Life Sciences or Engineering preferred. 5+ years of senior-level line management experience leading other leaders. Proven track record of delivering business results. Deep technical, operational, regulatory, strategic, and quality expertise, with a track record in late-stage programs in biotech or pharmaceutical settings. Experience navigating regulatory requirements including authoring/reviewing BLAs and interacting with regulatory authorities. Solid understanding of drug development within the biopharmaceutical industry. Experience in development and manufacturing of monoclonal antibodies or related fields preferred. Strong interpersonal and collaborative leadership skills. Leads by example in modeling Vera values and demonstrates learning agility. Ability to evaluate processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and execute on plans. Strong communication skills (oral and written); able to tailor communications to the audience. Attention to detail with the ability to move between hands-on work and strategic thinking. Ability to multitask and prioritize; strong leadership to nurture and grow the team. Compensation The anticipated base pay range for this role is $319,000 - $355,000. The exact base pay offered will depend on geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. Base pay is part of total compensation, which includes annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
