Job DescriptionAbout the JobOur client is currently seeking individuals for a full-time position as a Mechanical Project Engineer located in the San Diego, CA area. They offer industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations.ResponsibilitiesProject Estimating (Take-Off & Analysis)Project Scheduling (Manpower scheduling)Manage RFIs (Requests for Information)Prepare Submittal PackagesManage Flow of Contractor provided submittal dataAssist in data population of formsPrepare Project Progress BillingsAssist in Technical Analysis, Troubleshooting, and problem solving of HVAC Air Equipment, HVAC Piping Equipment Systems, HVAC & Plumbing EquipmentSkills and ExperienceBasic working knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing Design & System OperationBasic working knowledge of Commercial & Industrial construction sequencesBasic working knowledge of construction estimatingBasic working knowledge of testing procedures for HVAC systemsBasic working knowledge of ASHRAE data & guidelinesAverage proficiency with MS Project scheduling programAverage proficiency with MS Access or other database programsAbove average proficiency with MS Excel & WordAbove average proficiency with InternetAbove average verbal & writing skillsAbove average organizational skills in handling & archiving technical dataRecommended that the candidate have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Other Engineering Disciplines (Civil, Industrial, or Structural), and/or 5 years industry experience as a Construction Project Engineer. Candidate should be able to demonstrate experience with project administration, project scheduling, productivity analysis, project cost control accounting, plus equipment & material pany offers competitive benefits including 401-K, health, dental, life, and long-term disability.
