OverviewThe ideal candidate must be able to practice law in Maryland. Fortis Employment Law is a boutique civil rights and employment law practice representing Maryland workers in discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage theft cases. We're seeking an entry-level Maryland attorney. This position is primarily remote. As an Attorney, you’ll work directly with the managing attorney on every case — gaining one-on-one mentorship, meaningful courtroom experience, and real responsibility early in your career. We are a remote-first firm with a manageable caseload of 15–20 cases, quarterly in-person syncs, and a strong commitment to balance and growth. Attorneys share in a 25% contingency bonus pool, receive 20 days of paid leave plus paid parental leave, and get a $500 monthly healthcare stipend (with group coverage planned as we grow). If you want to launch your career in employment and civil rights law with hands-on experience and the support to thrive, we can't wait to meet you!ResponsibilitiesDraft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.Conduct legal research and apply findings to active municate regularly with clients to keep them informed and supported.Track deadlines and ensure cases move forward proactively.Participate in mediations, hearings, and trials alongside the managing attorney.Accurately record time spent on substantive case work for fee petitions.Collaborate with the managing attorney on case strategy and execution.Contribute to quarterly in-person firm sync meetings and overall firm culture.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Admission to the Maryland bar (federal admission a plus).Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with reliability and attention to detail.Collaborative, team-oriented mindset — you’ll always be working closely with another attorney.Genuine interest in employment law, civil rights, and advocating for workers.Preferred but not required: Prior experience in litigation, legal research, or client-facing work (internships, clinics, or clerkships count).Compensation$75,000 - $105,000 yearly #J-18808-Ljbffr
