Overview Director, Product Management, Finance Product & Data Solutions Join a team transforming Finance at Capital One by discovering business needs, uncovering value, and delivering product and platform solutions with technology, design, subject-matter experts, and finance professionals. Help lead the creation and growth of an empowered product management team and see your impact with internal customers. The product team focuses on automating reconciliation and accounting close processes to reduce manual work and enable streaming, enriched data. This includes streamlining financial experiences such as month-end close, reporting, and data needs. The Director, Product Management is a high-profile role responsible for discovering, delivering, and optimizing products and capabilities that transform how Finance Associates work and enable insights using modern technologies and core data services. You will contribute to portfolio and product strategy, help build the Product Management organization, shape culture, provide mentorship, and act as an ambassador for Product Management and the On Demand Finance Transformation team. Responsibilities Establish the vision, strategy, and execution of Finance products and services through understanding strategic Finance direction, technology architecture, and broad business needs. Create frameworks for prioritizing work, capabilities, components, and infrastructures used by multiple customer solutions and products. Communicate and evangelize product and portfolio strategy to influence stakeholders across large organizations and executives. Develop and provide frameworks for using data to uncover opportunities, track product performance, and drive decisions. Prioritize, negotiate, and remove blockers to enable successful launches or optimizations. Inspire and empower teams to execute with urgency to deliver solutions and align with priorities. Influence cross-department agendas to deliver outcomes while balancing short- and long-term objectives. Serve as a thought leader, mentor, and career guide for teams. Be a systems thinker and actively manage operational risk. Build product sequencing frameworks for product migrations. What we are looking for Proven experience in ideating, building, and implementing digital products. Experience in organizational change management and transforming ways of working. Deep knowledge of the Product Management discipline and building/maturing Product teams. Strong ability to set a vision and lead, develop, and inspire teams to create innovative products with high adoption and value for internal customers. Exceptional communication skills and ability to present to executives. Creative problem solver at the intersection of people, business, and technology. Strategic and tactical thinker who prioritizes opportunities in ambiguous contexts and translates vision into detailed execution. Aptitude to champion strategic technology initiatives delivering transformational value. Strong quantitative background to support data-informed decision making. Collaborative, team-oriented with the ability to navigate and influence the organization. Superior problem-solving and strategic thinking. Inspiring people leadership. Experience with merger and acquisition and/or transformational/complex change leadership including testing phases. Strong understanding of process and program management, including best practices and modeling. Basic Qualifications At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management. Current or in-process possession of one of the following with expected degree completion by start date: Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or related). Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or related) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration. At least 3 years of experience managing people. Preferred Qualifications Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products. 3+ years of Agile Product Management experience. 3+ years of Program Management experience. 3+ years of Project Management experience. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries shown reflect the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of posting for candidates hired to work in these locations. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. Cambridge, MA: $226,000 - $257,900 for Director, Product Management McLean, VA: $226,000 - $257,900 for Director, Product Management Richmond, VA: $205,400 - $234,400 for Director, Product Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range of that location. The actual offer will be stated in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
