The platform enables the configuration, qualification, delivery, and tracking of digital advertisements globally across Disney video-on-demand and Live TV properties, including Hulu, Disney+, ESPN, and more.As part of ad platform engineering, the programmatic teams build and maintain Disney’s programmatic advertising suite of products and services that comprise Disney's Real-time Ad Exchange (DRAX). DRAX is an award-winning, in-house SSP that enables the configuration of programmatic deals and integrates programmatic demand from multiple third-party sources into the Disney ad server in real time.As a Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners and engineering teams on the design and implementation of innovative products and features, contributing to the evolution of user-centric advertising at scale.On a daily basis you should bringA willingness and desire to effectively communicate and collaborate across teams and systemsAn understanding of the importance of project ownershipA passion for mentoring, learning, and adapting to a very dynamic and fast-paced environmentAn understanding of micro-service encapsulation and loose coupling, and why they are importantAn understanding of how to define technical and operational metrics to measure system health and to manage riskKindness and pragmatic optimismResponsibilitiesDesigning, implementing, and testing solutions to various engineering problems in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environmentEnhancing systems’ observability with proper metrics, monitors, and alertsReading and understanding product user stories, and then translating them into actionable tasksTaking ownership of one or more of the team's domain areasUnderstanding and using automated tools (AI) while adhering to company policyAvailable for On-Call rotations based on the team’s escalation policy and support scheduleBasic Qualifications5+ years of software engineering experienceProficiency with Java and ORMsExperience with ReactJS or similar frontend frameworks, with the ability to quickly pick up new technologiesRelational databases, such as MySQL or PostgresDemonstrable analytical / problem-solving skillsGreat communication, collaboration skills, and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiencesPreferred QualificationsExperience with SpringBoot and related Spring projectsCloud platforms such as AWSModern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and KubernetesData Streaming Mechanisms such as Apache Kafka, Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQSDomain knowledge in the Ad Tech industryRequired EducationBS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experienceAdditional Information#DISNEYTECHThe hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, California is $136,038 to $182,490 per year and in Glendale, California is $136,038 to $182,490 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
