You will work alongside Professional Engineers and designers on a broad range of projects involving state agencies such as MassDOT, the MBTA, Massport Authority, and more. You will work with our team on tasks developing Contract Documents such as plans, estimates, and calculations as well as assisting our inspection teams by evaluating existing structures such as bridges, tunnels, and facilities. The Boston office of Jacobs seeks Co-op(s) to work in our Structural Transportation Group from January 2026 – June 2026. Responsibilities Employee will perform tasks under the supervision of Bridge group staff. Work will be in a collaborative environment with engineers from varying disciplines of the civil engineering field. Tasks will be performed in an interactive setting with continuous guidance and support. Occasional tasks of a routine and repetitive nature may be required on certain projects. Tasks include drafting of construction plans, providing construction phase services (shop drawing and RFI review, preparation of meeting minutes), preparing geometric and structural design calculations, assisting in bridge, tunnel, and facility inspections (taking field notes, drafting and editing final reports) and other miscellaneous tasks. Exposure to various software packages including AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Adobe, Bluebeam, and Mathcad. Limited use of structural analysis software depending on available assignments. Work will include in office and field assignments. Qualifications Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university, a Civil Engineering major is required. Demonstrates interest in civil transportation projects or structures. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work well in a group or team atmosphere. Excellent organization and critical thinking/problem solving skills. Must be willing to ask questions and organize thoughts or solutions during tasks. Strong time management and attention to detail. GPA of 3.0 or higher. Employees have access to a 401(k) plan, as well as legally mandated benefits. The base salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $65,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
