As one of the fastest-growing companies in the biopharmaceutical industry across Australia, BioCina was awarded the 2024 South Australia “Emerging Business of the Year” award.What are we seeking?In line with our business growth, we are seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to spearhead our growth across the Eastern United States Market. This is a high-impact, remote role ideal for a driven, strategic, and technically fluent professional with a passion for biologics and an ability to engage clients at all levels—from discovery-stage biotech to established pharma.What will this role do?Lead BioCina’s commercial expansion in the Eastern US market, focusing on biologics services across microbial-based Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing.Execute a targeted growth strategy, aligning market opportunities with BioCina’s advanced capabilities in large molecule development.Own the end-to-end business development cycle, from identifying and qualifying leads to proposal development, contract negotiation, and post-deal relationship management.Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new opportunities across mAbs, recombinant proteins, pDNA, mRNA, LNP and other large molecule programs.Represent BioCina at industry events and conferences, strengthening brand visibility and building strategic partnerships.Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to ensure solution alignment and seamless project onboarding.Provide market intelligence and feedback to shape future service offerings and enhance BioCina’s competitive positioning.What are the qualifications?A proven business development executive with a minimum of 8–10+ years of experience in the biopharma or CDMO sector, preferably focused on large molecule programs.Deep understanding of biologics development and manufacturing—including process development, scale-up, tech transfer, GMP manufacturing, and regulatory frameworks.Demonstrated success in selling complex biologics services to biotech and pharma across the US.Skilled at building trust with scientific and C-level stakeholders, with strong consultative sales and relationship-building abilities.Highly motivated, self-directed, and effective in a remote, cross-functional environment.Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree highly regarded.Based in the US, with the ability to travel to client sites and industry events.What attributes are we seeking?Strong work ethic, attention to details and excellent time management.Self-driven and proactive, but also able to adapt to changing priorities and/or circumstances.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Team player with demonstrated ability to build and nurture positive, productive relationships.Earns a high level of trust with clients through high ethics, reliability, and petitive remuneration and benefits: We offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and recognition for exceptional performance.Career growth opportunities: We believe in growing our people and providing ample opportunities for career development and novation and impact: Be part of a company that goes beyond the boundaries of science and makes a positive impact on patients’ lives both in Australia, and throughout the world.State-of-the-art facilities: Utilise cutting-edge technology and work in a modern, well-equipped facility that fosters creativity and productivity.Collaborative environment: Work alongside passionate and expert professionals who are dedicated to excellence and share a common goal.To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your qualifications, relevant experience, and why you are the right fit for this role.
