Join to apply for the Project Engineer role at TeichertOverviewThe purpose of this role is to develop well-rounded future talent with construction expertise across multi-disciplines, ultimately creating professionals with experience in the full scope of construction management. This role assists and supports Field Operations and/or Estimating functions in achieving their goals and objectives, contributing to project management, field operations, and estimating.ResponsibilitiesActively supports estimating and field operation goals and objectives through completing technical/administrative projects on time, providing ongoing support, and proactively resolving challenges and issues. Uses customer feedback to improve day-to-day processes and procedures.Collaborates across departments and supports consistent Field Operations and Estimating practices and administrative procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards that protect the company’s interests.Promotes Teichert Construction values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment, and respect for others. Maintains a team spirit and cooperates with other disciplines; uses resources effectively and efficiently.Supports community perception of Teichert and fosters positive external relationships.Technical / Specialty AreaAssists in promoting a zero-injury culture by supporting Injury Prevention and Safety programs; participates in safety meetings and training; identifies safety improvements and hazardous conditions and communicates them to maintain a safe work pletes assignments on time and accurately, collaborates with Project Managers, Superintendents, and/or Estimators to resolve problems, and ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, schedules, and standards.Provides support in coordinating resources for projects; may identify problems related to labor, equipment, and materials; coordinates subcontractors and suppliers; orders and schedules materials; may build GPS models for field use.Assists Estimators with material takeoffs, validates work submitted by Take-Off Technicians, resolves miscalculations, and gathers data for bid proposals; may develop guidelines for future estimates using historical data.Prepares estimates as required, reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope, and uses historical data to project unit and man-hour figures.Maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers; communicates policies and standards clearly; upholds a favorable company image.Performs internal administrative duties, maintains project logs, files, records, and estimates; develops diaries, submittals, RFIs, contracts, permits, quotes, POs, invoices, and quantity take-offs.Owns career development and contributes across engineering services, field operations, and estimating; communicates personal and professional goals with the aim of progressing within Teichert.Relationships, Qualifications And RequirementsReports ToArea Manager or General Superintendent or Estimating Manager or Engineering Services ManagerDirect ReportsNoneExternal ClientsMaterial and equipment suppliers, subcontractors, owners, developers, consultants, private customers, public agencies, state and federal regulatory agencies, A/E representativesInternal ClientsArea Manager, General Superintendent, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, Estimators, Estimating Manager, Administrative Manager, Accounting Office Assistant, Cost Analysts, DispatchEducation, Experience & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experienceTypically, Project Engineer I = 0–2 years; Project Engineer II = 2+ yearsSpecific Job RequirementsSuccessful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigationValid Driver’s License and ability to obtain/maintain company auto insuranceCurrent on all required safety trainingAbility to handle confidential information and avoid conflicts of interestKnowledge of drafting and ability to read blueprintsAbility to use computer-aided systems to calculate material quantitiesKnowledge of project management and/or estimating softwareWorking knowledge of construction equipment, materials, techniques, and standardsKnowledge of Teichert’s Standard Operating Policies and ProceduresOccasional overnight travelCompetenciesRelationship ManagementBusiness AcumenCommunicationsOrganization and ManagementPeople DevelopmentTechnology: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, AGTEK, SureTrakTechnical competence in constructionEquipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work EnvironmentEquipment Used: PC, telephone, PPE, drafting tools, plan scanners, plottersPhysical Demands: Sitting long periods at a computer; driving to job sites; walking on uneven ground; climbing, bending, stooping; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; vision requirementsWork Environment: Office with occasional job site exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and weather; varied shifts may be requiredBase Salary Range$100,750.00 - $141,050.00Employer Disclosure StatementThe above statements describe the nature and level of work and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
