Position OverviewThe successful applicant will lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based solutions for MMRF’s internal and external research network. They will work in highly-technical, multi-disciplinary teams and offer deep technical understanding of cloud computing technologies, DevOps practices, networking, IT and Big Data solutions and business operations. They will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to navigate both the back-end technical side and the business side of cloud infrastructure, research, and operations to meet the needs of MMRF’s clinical and genomic research initiatives.Essential FunctionsResponsible for designing, developing, and managing cloud infrastructure, cloud solutions, and data asset management workflows to help MMRF accelerate global Multiple Myeloma research initiatives.Work closely with external vendors and their IT & Cloud DevOps team members for strategic planning, building, deploying, and integrating solution infrastructures and workflows for migration, storage, compute, and security.Provide technical leadership and consultancy to internal and external researchers and engineers for planning and completing operational tasks while also providing training and mentorship to new staff.Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and define the scope of cloud projects and research initiatives.Produce custom software solutions with DevOps engineers and Bioinformatics Scientists to develop and deploy advanced processing & analytics techniques and machine learning applications for Multiple Myeloma genomic research.Lead the development of cloud security, governance, and compliance policies and procedures on AWS cloud and using the industry-recognized AWS “Well-Architected Framework” best practices.Manage and optimize cloud costs by minimizing redundancy and maximizing resources based on business value.Provide project management and financial reporting for cloud projects.Automate computational workflows and develop reproducible infrastructure as code.Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in cancer research, cloud computing, DevOps, and machine learning.Write, diagnose, and troubleshoot code for research endeavors and cloud-based infrastructure at any level of the tech stack.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field.4+ years of experience working in cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), DevOps, and Computational Biology/Bioinformatics.Proven expertise and experience in cloud-based technologies and services.Proven experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure environments.Strong background in development and IT operations.Strong programming skills and expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).Experience in implementing and managing cloud policies, access controls, and security configurations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary team environments.Certified AWS Cloud Solutions Architect required.Research experience in Cancer Genomics (preferred). #J-18808-Ljbffr
