OverviewDevelop, coordinate, and execute security objectives for personnel and physical security issues. This includes administrative processing and monitoring of personnel Security Clearances using Defense Information Security System (DISS), updating and maintaining Security Information Management System (SIMS), and handling document control for media and access controls. You will participate in security assessments, interact with government personnel to achieve clearance actions, and support industrial, personal, and physical security programs. Create training aides and provide security briefings to personnel. The Industrial Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining company security policies and ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM). Reports to the FSO and/or Security Manager and interfaces with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) on security clearance matters and NISPOM interpretations.ResponsibilitiesReview, coordinate, and publish security program governance documentation (policies, procedures, Standard Practice Procedures manual).Maintain Facility Clearance (FCL) documentation in the National Industrial Security System (NISS).Process incoming and outgoing visit authorizations for personnel on contracts requiring cleared access.Validate personnel security clearances and initiate investigations when required.Manage security processes related to personnel, physical, industrial, and classification security within Special Access Programs.Define, update, maintain, and produce reports from JPAS and DISS databases.Administer security education/training to cleared personnel; conduct briefing/debriefing as required.Maintain an ongoing security education program, update annual online training, publish security awareness notices, and participate in security awareness venues.Administer processes to obtain and maintain Personnel Clearance Levels (PCL) and maintain secure folders.Participate in security self-assessments, DCSA vulnerability assessments, and other audits.Advise personnel on reporting requirements (administrative and incident-related).Prepare DD-254 documentation and security guidance for subcontractors; review and modify Prime/Subcontract DD Form 254s as needed.Prepare and authorize courier orders and cards up to the Secret Level; maintain access control systems including badges and visitor management.Monitor lobby reception activities with visitors; prepare CAC requests as required across multiple contracts.Perform other security-related tasks as directed by the FSO (e.g., escorting non-accessed personnel, parcel checks, alarm testing, support for SETA program).Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma with 3-4 years of experience (or equivalent).Strong working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM).Completion of FSO Certification Training within 6 months of hire.Expert knowledge of NBIS/DISS, SWFT, NISS, and e-QIP.3+ years experience working on a Special Access Program.Working knowledge of DD-254 and other required forms.Experience with Microsoft Office applications.Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.This position requires eligibility under US export laws (US Person) or approval under a U.S. Government export license.Preferred QualificationsActive DoD Secret Clearance.Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 3 years of experience.Salary and LocationSalary Range: Industrial Security Specialist III: $98,000 - $120,000 annually.
