The position is responsible for project delivery, resource development, business development, and leading strategic projects and innovation initiatives.ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery - Take on implementation projects of increasing complexity, provide strategic guidance, develop roadmaps, and ensure the successful implementation of software solutions to address clients/' challenges. Serve as the Solution Architect on large and complex strategic or transformational programs for clients in the energy and utilities industries.Responsible for quality assurance/quality control of projects outside regular assignments to ensure alignment with company standards and client expectations.Provide best practice expertise during blueprinting & business process design phases for digital transformation projects.Resource Development - Support business-critical talent development initiatives to build a highly skilled and adaptable talent pipeline with succession planning to foster growth and mitigate risk within the department.Guide and mentor aspiring Leads and Solution Architects, preparing them for design sessions, coaching on approach, debriefing on results, and connecting key deliverables to strategic value drivers and customer outcomes.Lead expertise pipeline initiative using the Skills Matrix and individual development plans to build robust succession plans and ensure adequate solution coverage.Lead curated knowledge transfer and training program series to enhance team skills and capabilities.Act as a trusted advisor to customers within the energy and utilities domains; develop technical knowledge of utility accounting and participate in Industry Conferences.Business Development - Expand the company/'s market presence and revenue through strategic client acquisition, relationship management, and development of innovative services and offerings.Primary Solution Architect within Professional Services Platform responsible for validating estimates and supporting discovery in large, complex and/or transformational sales pile quarterly market and industry updates to identify expansion opportunities and ensure PowerPlan Services remains relevant and competitive.Support the creation and standardization of Services Offerings and contribute to a Services Selling Framework.Strategic Projects and Innovation - Lead cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and implement innovative solutions that drive growth and maintain a competitive edge.Develop and continuously improve methodology to deliver expertise and advisory on digital transformation initiatives (ERP transformation, business process optimization & re-implementation).Develop and continuously improve methodology for cloud transformation technology and initiatives.Support transformation initiatives, including project delivery improvement and standardization corporate Gen AI into strategic projects and assist with methodology improvements for large, complex programs.Time AllocationProject Delivery: 70%Resource Development: 5%Business Development: 5%Strategic Projects/Innovation: 20%Total: 100%Expected OutcomesRevenue generation through direct project delivery as a Solution Architect under the associated rate crease in project quality and customer value realization through QA assessments.Expertise growth and development of internal team through structured coaching of talent pipeline.Streamline validation of estimates, requirements, and scope assumptions for sales pursuits.Establish team to execute go-to-market strategy for Services offerings to capture new business opportunities.Robust collateral repository for transformational project delivery through a standardized approach.Digital transformation capabilities support organizational readiness effort to facilitate SaaS adoption.Develop and improve organizational readiness around cloud technology and deployments.Required QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.10+ years’ experience implementing senior solution software applications in a client-facing consulting role; preferably in a software consulting or IT organization.10+ years’ experience in utilities and energy industries and/or utility and fixed asset accounting.Experience in all phases of the implementation process.Experience in other phases of the customer lifecycle (Sales, R&D, Product, Customer Operations, Customer Success) preferred.Ability to establish oneself as a trusted advisor to client, project team and PowerPlan, Inc. colleagues.History of increasing responsibility or upward progression; experience leading project teams or direct reports.Able to track multiple independent work items simultaneously.High level of collaboration skills, especially with colleagues not in the same location.Highly motivated self-starter; excellent organizational and time management skills.Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening, presentation); ability to engage with clients and project teams at all levels.Ability to document technical and functional requirements by partnering with stakeholders and team members; separate technology asks from business needs.Consulting and client/project team relationship-building skills; experience with a robust implementation methodology.Willingness to master new processes and standards rapidly and evolve approaches to meet requirements without delay or loss of quality.Preferred QualificationsIndustry experience within oil and gas, mining, transportation, natural resources, utilities, energy markets or telecom.Experience with implementing key Senior Solution applications, including ERP, EAM and CRM.Working knowledge of financial accounting processes for ERP implementations.Management information systems background; strong technical skills, especially with Oracle SQL.3+ years expertise in cloud technology, cloud deployments, and SaaS deployments.Experience with AI tools to enhance professional services deployments.Ability to design and implement software on multiple platforms using Java, JavaScript, SQL, and web services; translate complex technical requirements into business language.Understanding of system and network architecture, data models, and complex SQL queries.Experience with Excel (functions, macros, pivot tables) and process-oriented analysis.Knowledge of test management software (e.g., qTest, HP ALM).Additional InformationPowerPlan is an EOE.
