Clark University seeks a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as our Associate Vice President for Facilities Management. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary professional to oversee the stewardship of our beautiful 85-acre campus and 1.7 million square feet of facilities.As a key member of the leadership team, you will report to the Executive Vice President and be responsible for guiding a dedicated staff of over 90 professionals. Your strategic leadership will be vital in advancing Clark's mission through effective capital planning, efficient operations management, and innovative sustainability initiatives.Major ResponsibilitiesProvide executive-level leadership and direction for Facilities Management, aligning operations with University goals.Oversee daily operations of all facilities, including construction and maintenance, custodial services, trades, sustainability, grounds, rental properties, utilities, and mailroom services.Lead long-range capital and deferred maintenance planning; serve as project executive for major initiatives.Develop and manage an operating budget of approximately $9.8 million; oversee contracts, bids, and vendor relationships.Recruit, supervise, and develop direct reports; foster a high-performance, service-oriented culture.Implement systems, processes, and metrics to ensure efficient service delivery.Support major University events (Commencement, Alumni Weekend, Parents Weekend) and serve on committees including Emergency Response and the Board of Trustees' Environmental Committee.Job RequirementsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 10 years of progressively responsible facilities management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, capital project oversight, and large-scale operations.Strong financial management skills with experience overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets.Knowledge of state and local safety, fire, construction, and accessibility regulations.Experience with LEED practices, sustainability initiatives, and facilities technology systems.Outstanding leadership, delegation, and communication skills.Flexibility to manage multiple priorities, including evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities.Preferred QualificationsExecutive-level facilities leadership experience in higher education.Advanced degree in engineering, architecture, facilities management, business administration, or related field.Familiarity with space planning, design, and institutional master planning.Additional InformationAt Clark University we believe that diversity of experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds leads to a more innovative and productive work environment.
