OverviewJob DescriptionWhy this role is important to usThe Business Risk Management Executive (BRME) team is a first line function that partners with State Street Investment Management (State Street IM) business teams to properly identify, assess and manage operational and regulatory risk. The Incident & Issue Program Lead will play an important role on this team, responsible for managing State Street IM reporting and handling of incidents and any identified gap(s) in the control environment, to ensure a clear understanding of themes and timely remediation. The Program Lead will work closely with business leaders, ERM, and Compliance. As pioneers in index, ETF, and ESG investing, we are always inventing new ways to invest.Join us if making your mark in the asset management industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be responsible forAs an Incident & Issue Program Lead you willSupport the business in reporting, data capture, handling, and escalation of State Street IM Incidents (i.e. errors, data incidents and client concessions) as well as State Street IM Issues (i.e. an identified deficiency in the design or effectiveness of the control or operating environment)Review and challenge Incident and Issue content as part of the Reviewer stage of the workflow and broader oversight of both programs to ensure proper alignment between root cause, risk materiality / likelihood, and any required corrective or preventative actionIdentify risk and control themes and periodically present to senior managers and governance forums to develop and maintain a clear understanding of any gaps and influence – as needed – remediationMonitor key risk and performance indicators; escalate any outliers and assist Incident/Issue owners and senior leaders in successfully addressing themLead Incident & Issue reporting for senior leaders and governance committees to ensure content is clear, prioritized, and that key themes, preventative action(s), and exceptions/outliers are highlighted for review and actionMaintain deep subject matter knowledge related to business line activities, operating model, industry and regulatory trends, as well as business and technology risks; efficiently and effectively apply this insight into how content, themes, and priorities are framed and actionedEngage BRME peers, leaders of other risk programs, and partners in the 2nd and 3rd line of defense to further challenge and develop risk and remediation prioritiesEstablish and maintain productive relationships with key business function leaders; instill confidence by demonstrating credibility and expertise on core programs and servicesEducate business stakeholders on Incident and Issue program requirements and expectationsDevelop and maintain an State Street IM view of prioritized Archer Incident & Issue technology enhancements; leverage State Street platform owners and program peers to develop consensus of high-value enhancements and coordinate testing as neededWhat we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this role5+ years of financial services experience with a large financial services firm or advisory/consulting firm including experience as an internal auditor, risk or compliance officer or related business role actively assessing and managing riskIndependent strategic thinker with an understanding of regulatory, operational, and technology risks in financial services, preferably within investment management function(s)Strong organizational awareness with ability to facilitate and resolve conflicts; ability to make informed, risk optimized decisions under time pressureAbility to manage and coach teams to produce efficient and high quality deliverablesAbility to collaborate and drive results within the organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt to various situations and audiencesDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work on global cross-functional projectsStrong ability to lead through influenceExcellent skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping toolsSelf-motivated professional with the ability to work within deadlines and meet goalsAre you the right candidate?
