Our broad portfolio of products and services, combined with an international network in over 150 countries, allows us to deliver comprehensive domestic and global insurance solutions for U.S.-based multinational companies.Job SummaryWe are currently seeking an accomplished, results-oriented candidate to join our growing CMP Casualty team as Senior CMP Casualty Underwriter. The successful candidate will have experience in marketing, negotiating, quoting and handling their own book of business with a focus on service delivery and accountability. Reporting to the CMP Casualty Lead in Chicago, the position requires working within a specific limit of authority on programs requiring significant technical complexity and coordination.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with local brokers, clients, home office and our global network as required. This includes data and risk information collection, and the systematic processing of new and renewal business.Reconciling premiums and monitoring of outstanding premiums; timely and accurate issuance of contractual documentation.Work on the most complex underwriting risks employing advanced diagnostic and systematic analysis to assess acceptability. Develops specialized endorsement language, as necessary.Determines appropriate pricing based on financial and competitive analysis in line with compliance requirements.Thorough and consistent file documentation.Provide guidance and assistance to other underwriters and to other functional areas, particularly when related to cross-sell opportunities.Works with Chief Underwriting Officer and Actuaries on risks exceeding authority level or requiring special handling.Participates with Chief Underwriting Officer in the development and implementation of marketing and business strategy.Responsible for special underwriting projects and presentations.Provide mentorship / guidance to less experienced underwriters on the team.Enhance HDI's brand visibility by participating in industry events, socials, conferences, etc.QualificationsPositive and self-motivated.Proven experience and relationships with Eastern US-produced accounts and brokers5+ years experience in underwriting international programsUnderwriting experience in US GL, US Lead Umbrella/Excess and/or Manufacturers E&OSolid technical knowledge of casualty wordingsCompletion of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent would be an asset.Working knowledge of Spanish, French, German or Chinese would be an asset.Work experience abroad considered an asset.Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced team environment.Ability to manage time and competing priorities.Work EnvironmentThis role offers flexibility with an office-based, hybrid, or remote arrangement depending on pensationThe base salary range for this position is $155,000-$175,000 plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus.
