OverviewRemote (U.S.-based) | Nonprofit | Part-Time (Potential to become Full-Time)Maristan is a nonprofit mental health organization rooted in Islamic tradition and committed to advancing holistic healing through professional clinical care, education, and research. We provide culturally and spiritually congruent care that bridges tradition and innovation. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and mission-aligned Accounting Coordinator to help manage day-to-day finances and support the Executive Director and Board Treasurer in stewarding the financial well-being of the organization.What Success Looks LikeYou will help build strong internal systems that ensure accurate, ethical, and streamlined financial management. You’ll bring clarity to our budgeting process, stay ahead of tax and audit requirements, and provide timely reporting that supports leadership decision-making. This role is integral to Maristan’s sustainability and growth.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily financial operations and track all incoming and outgoing fundsApprove and release expenses and invoicesMaintain accurate financial records and ensure alignment with monthly close calendarSupport the Executive Director in monitoring contracts, revenue, and budget performanceAssist with developing and tracking against annual budgetsCollaborate with departments to ensure correct financial entries and Zakat revenue allocationManage nonprofit compliance including state and federal registrations, audits, and tax filingsCoordinate with HR on payroll expense tracking and accountingOwn and manage banking relationshipsDevelop and implement financial policies, SOPs, and invoice/reimbursement proceduresProvide reporting on financial performance and identify potential budget gapsSupport leadership on special projects and attend weekly/monthly check-insQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)Minimum of 4 years’ experience in nonprofit accounting or financial coordinationFamiliarity with nonprofit compliance, payroll, and budgeting processesExperience with QuickBooks and Gusto (required)Proficiency in Google Workspace and strong communication skillsOrganized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a collaborative spiritEligible to work in the U.S.To ApplyApplication FormDownload Full Job Description: #J-18808-Ljbffr
