OverviewCapital Alpha Partners, LLC is an independent, non-partisan consultancy that provides sophisticated analysis of public policy and political developments to a discerning client base. Our clients rely on us to translate and forecast that which is sector-relevant in Washington.We are seeking to hire an Energy Policy Analyst to join our policy research team. This individual will collaborate with our senior energy analyst on shared issue areas while taking the lead on a distinct and evolving portfolio of energy policy topics. The role offers high visibility, intellectual challenge, and the opportunity to produce market-relevant work in a fast-moving environment.We are looking for someone who can operate with autonomy and contribute meaningfully from the outset. The analyst will be expected to track legislative and regulatory developments, form well-reasoned theses, and produce clear, insightful analysis for clients. At the same time, they will align with and support the work of our senior analyst to ensure cohesive and consistent coverage across the energy policy space.This role is well-suited to an emerging policy expert with strong writing and analytical skills who is ready to step into a client-facing, commercially-minded environment that offers autonomy, responsibility, and collegiality.Key ResponsibilitiesPolicy Monitoring, Analytical Writing & Communication:Track and interpret U.S. legislative and regulatory developments affecting the energy sector (e.g., oil and gas value chain from upstream through refining with attention to permitting, land access, and infrastructure);Analyze qualitative and quantitative source materials, including rulemakings, hearings, legislation, and agency publications, to maintain situational awareness and anticipate change.Maintain a watchlist of short-, medium-, and long-term catalysts relevant to the coverage portfolio.Develop and articulate forward-looking theses on assigned issues.Produce regular written analysis, including weekly publications and time-sensitive updates.Participate in and eventually lead webinars and client municate clearly and concisely with clients through direct inquiry responses.ResponsibilitiesWork in close coordination with the senior analyst on overlapping topic areas and shared deliverables.Ensure analytical consistency and coverage alignment while taking ownership of individual workstreams.Support client research requests, including bespoke policy analysis and due diligence.Contribute to business development through thoughtful engagement with existing and prospective clients.QualificationsDemonstrated expertise in U.S. energy policy with a strong grasp of relevant institutions and actors.Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to draw clear insights from complex and dynamic information.Superior writing and interpersonal communication abilities – succinct, clear, and persuasive.Strong judgment, intellectual independence, and comfort working with minimal direction.Familiarity with data analytics and rudimentary modeling is a plus.Ability to thrive in a lean, remote, and high-trust environment.Minimum five years of experience in government or a public policy-related field.Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience terested candidates should send their CV and cover letter to #J-18808-Ljbffr
